I'm not talking about what we shot starting out, most of us are seasoned bowlers now with many games under our belts. What was your worst league game ever, how far under your average was it and what caused it?

For me I had a low 200 average and shot a 117. It was dry as could be and I did nothing but split with failed conversions.

Just this year I had a 122 game (196 avg.) that was part of a 433 series and a night filled with splits and 10 pins. One lane was over oiled and the other hooked off the lanes. Four 190+ bowlers combined had 1 low 200 game for the night. Very humbling.

Well lets see. My lowest score this season (at the time my ave was 178) was a 104. The lanes were a lot more oily than usual and I just couldn't deal with the heavy oil. The men's league that bowled after us... the high series on their league was a 602!! Pretty sad LOL All you can do is get frustrated at the time and laugh about it later

I'm a 175-180 bowler and shot a 127 earlier the first week of the season. Lanes were really dry and I couldn't do anything.

Well, I don't know about my worst game ever as I have had my share of bad games and really, really bad games

So my most recent would be about 9 weeks ago during my Friday night league after having a 512 going into the 3rd game, I shot a 135

1st game = 222
2nd game = 290
3rd game = 135
-----
647 series

So the good thing about that nonsence was I decided to get back to the lanes after work and practice, practice, practice, since I only bowled on league night

I found that my 3rd game was usually my worst game so I have been practicing after work 3/4 times aweek to build up my stamina and also to help me out with the normal boo-boos that I seem to do

Plus don't forget even the pros throw in stinkers once in a while.

I've collapsed on the 3rd game the last 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago, I had 412 after 2 games and ended up with 566. Then last week, I had 438 after 2 games and finished with 599. I need to work on reading the lanes better and try to build my stamina a bit for the last game as well. True, everyone throws bad games every now and then, even the pros.

2 weeks ago i bowled a 108 (164 avg).

Last night I shot a 122 in the second game out of four. The other games were 246, 233, and 222. Go figure. It was as if my primary ball just didn't fit my hand any more after that first game. I couldn't seem to manage even a half-way decent release. I switched to another ball with a different drilling and was fine from there on out.

I shot 102 ( -56 ) a couple weeks ago. I could barely make a spare, and I got disgusted. And my wife who is on my team got mad a me, and that didn't really help. Thats it - it was all her fault! ha ha

Good frigg'n grief! I can't stand it anymore!!!!!!!

The last couple of weeks I have been practicing with my new "The One" ball and I have been bowling great.

So I have used it twice in league and shot well, so fast forward to this week and all of my practice has been superb,

Tuesday I had back to back '11 strike games' and Thursday during practice I shot my first 300, I know, I know its only practice but I love it anyway

So now Friday night leagu starts and I can't hit a descent shot to save my life...I went there really expecting a 700 series

Of course my body was sooooo sore from all of my practice this week that when it came league time
my mind and my old body couldn't agree to come together LOL

they really fought each other all night at least thats the best way I could explain it!

those high expectations can hurt too james... i've gone in thinking the same thing after some great practices and end up shooting sub 600 for sure. i get the high series when i'm not expecting it. gotta focus on each shot and forget about everything.

Mine was a frustrating 5 frames with a 57 in the 5th frame! Couldn't carry a spare or a split for 5 frames. Lucky, I was able to strike out to the 10th with 202.

But that game in general.. put me to the limit of frustrating and in the end.. I used the concept of "Don't get mad, get even" and I was firing the ball to the pocket with a roar of "Yea.. YOU BLEEP! BLEEP! BLEEP! You better fall down now! Who's in control now? Not You!" lol. That was what going on in my head. lol.

Sometimes, you get caught in the moment.. you do forget what you were bowling for. Heh.

EVERY STINKING TIME I have a good practice and think I've finally figured something out, I bowl like pure and utter poop at the next league. It's depressing, to say the least. It's like every time I think I've made progress, I quickly find myself starting all over again.

My worst league game was last week on Wednesday. I have a 208 avg, was doing well the first 2 games, a 233 and 224, then topped it off with a 138. Don't know what happened, just lost concentration I guess. The opposite on my Sunday league. On that league, I avg 180, but had a 236, 234, and a 207. Go figure! Same house, varying degrees of oil. That night was light to med as opposed to the normal med to heavy, which my Freak Out and Animal like because they hook more and I can play my favorite line...35 to 8-10.

Let see probally Family League i was in when i was junior bowler which i shot a 98. Yeah i think it was the last day of league and they provided pizza and all and i didn really concentrate on bowling. I was just eating and just throwing the ball like that. At that time i was junior scratch bowler averaging 160.

Now at adult league my average is now 170-180 and worst i shot was probally 120.

I had a overall bad night in the youth/adult league over the summer. I was averaging 185 going into that night and shot 149-138-160 for a 447 series. The worst series I shot in 2 1/2 years. I couldn't hit anything. I came back and shot 616 the next week. Crazy how that works.

Well this season my lowest game is 143, with a 173 avg. As for my previous season my lowest was 107, with 160-ish avg. Can't remember anything before that though. I'm too young, i believe

After averaging 180 last year I've bowled a 119 and a 121 this year with multiple scores in the higher 120's. Needless to say my average this year has started out less than stellar, around 154.

Working on that handicap? Last fall, I had a 157 average after 3 weeks, then I shot a 635 series in week 4. Ended up 3rd for the season on handicap series.

For the first 2 weeks of the season, bowled on the same pair of alleys, shot 443 with a 128, and 448 with a 138, Last night I had 691 with a 279. But, we killed our opponent with my handicap. Usual average is 195 in other leagues.

Go figure?

The first game of this season I shot a whopping 114,I started
with a 188 avg. Lanes were drier than usual but not a dessert, it was just me making dumb shots. I rebounded the last two games for a 507 series.

Ha! You fellas think you bowl bad games, huh? My worst (ever) was 81 a few weeks back, followed by an 89 and 101 (in the same match) just a couple of weeks ago. My average is still (unbelievably) 150. The coaching has really paid off for me!

My best league game was a 174, which was immediately followed by a 92 in the next game. That wasn't my worst game - it was my second worst game that season. I had bowled a 90 three weeks prior to that game.

That was the worst game I bowled in league until two weeks later when I got an 89.

I think it's in the 1-teens. Not positive though.

Right now I'm a 180 average but last night I shot my worst game for some time. I started out pretty good but I went downhill all night: 201-181-124. I think I had about 5 splits in the last game.

My low game I tied again last Fri with a 118 left handed. The problem wasn't bowling bad, I hurt my right wrist decide to go go lefty and now my left hand hurts to the point I spray the ball. I think righty my low game this year was a 122, shows you how off you can be, I was very healthy and very lost then.
