Hmm..tried to edit last entry to avoid a double post, but I guess there's a time limit for editing your own posts. Meh.

Anywho, I forgot to put up my scores for this past week, since I'm using Birdman's thread for my personal gain. I just don't feel like starting a thread to post my scores and what not. If I wanted to do that, I'd use my LJ.

By far, not my best week, and my season average went down a pin. My game just wasn't there this week. Was tired, didn't really care much for trying. I knew after the first two frames of game 1 that my release was of "blech" quality, so I threw straight balls until game 3. At that point, I moved to the right, aimed for the same target and then named that game "How Josh Got His Hook Back". I'm just glad to have my own ball now. Still having some pain in my hand, but I think now it's mainly the metal in the brace digging into the nerves everytime my wrist bends. Who knows. I strapped the brace differently after taking both metal pieces out, and started doing better. So, if we do happen to practice tomorrow, we'll be seeing how I really do without the metal.

I am worthless and I missed a a spare in the 10th that would of won us 3 games. Instead, I blow it and we split 2-2. My current average: 189, Current team record:13-7. My average just steadily drops and I am killing the team I single handed lost at least four of our seven games becuase I just get on the approach and say "hey lets miss my mark, and not follow though or how about have no knee bend what so ever, etc. I know It's early in the season and we still have 31 more weeks, it just angers me that I know what I have to do to bowl to my ability, but it seems my timing/release is off.

Hi Birdman. Man, I know where you are at right now, having been in the same situation early in my season (Feb to Nov). While it seems to you that you are not pulling your weight, I know that you are not stepping up there to deliberately miss a spare. Each time I go to the line, I have a plan and I try to execute but it doesn't always come off. Don't beat yourself up over it and don't dwell on it either as the fear of failing to execute becomes the overriding factor in making your shot. You try too hard to correct what went wrong last time and end up over-compensating and make an even worse one! I have learnt this lesson, myself, the hard way. Now I just take each shot as it comes and visualise the Execution just before going through with the actual event. The result, for me, has been a good improvement in finishing up what I started with. The other thing that helped was getting in some practice time, just shooting for spares. The extra confidence in knowing that I can make them has eased the anxiety when it comes to crunch time on league nights. Relax and enjoy your game and the shots will come. Good luck.

Birdman...where are you in the league lineup? I mean, within your team, are you lead off, second...ect..? Just answer with a number out of the total number of people on your team.

You are not losing the games for your team -- remember, there is no "I" in team. The only disservice you are doing to your team is stepping onto the approach with a defeatist attitude. Your team deserves better from you than that. If your teammates see that you are trying your best on every shot, there is no way that they will criticize you because they have all been there themselves. Everyone goes through a slump. Your job is to believe in yourself enough to dig yourself out of it. Your teammates will understand and be patient. If not, I'd find a new team.

Our leaque starts in Cyprus on the 25.10.2005
I started practicing 6 weeks ago.This year I bought my new fisrt ball Ebonite tornato. Since now I was playing with a house ball.
I play hook, Left handed,and every fisrt game I play well about my average 180.
The second and the thirt game I lose everything,consenttration,balance,release.

I could never imagine switching teams, I would quit bowling b4 going to another team. I'll post my results for week 6 later tonight.

Well I bowled as god as I have in 3 weeks.

We split 2-2 this week, overall at 15-9.
I started to tuck my pinky towrds my ring finger.
It worked great and a had a solid line all night.
I like the way by ball feels off my hand and remember to stay low at the line. Till next week.
