The experiment with the Hy-Road Pearl at 2000 grit failed miserably last night. I had a hard time getting through the front part of the lanes without it immediately trying to grab. When it got the target area, it still flipped hard even after all the initial scrubbing in the front. The ball looked weird entering the pocket, the entry angle was definitely more than 10 degrees.

I don't think I'll be able to take it down to 1000 grit seeing how I'm struggling with it at 2000 grit. I guess you can't take the flip out of a flippy ball. undecided

I tried this as well once, bad mistake. As I said in the other thread, this ball loves OOB surface, and polish. For your needs, use the multi-step resurface, but skip the Step Two part, going straight to polish. If you don't have a spinner, the polish doesn't work nearly as well.

The back part of the lane is dominated by the core and not the coverstock surface texture.
