If you haven't heard already, 900 #32 was shot last night in Lockport, IL. Richgels has a good article on it as well as links to 3 different videos of it.

Amazing night. I personally don't know Sam but a lot of guys I bowl with do. They have all said what a great guy and good bowler he is. Amazing.

at least one is from Cali. Where are the others? That would be an interesting thing to look at. Hmmmm. . .

I remember when it happened. Honestly, I was shocked that it was approved. It probably wouldn't have been but he shot it during a tournament on campus. He was only 20 when he shot it.

As it was never sanctioned, it isn't considered the first...officially at least. Though many still consider it the "people's 900."

Even at that, there were 900s shot in the 1930s, at exhibitions, but they weren't sanctioned and are largely forgotten by time.
