I've been using Powerhouse clean and dull gel on my reactive balls for quite some time now. I went to the Pro Shop yesterday to get some more. They told me they are now stocking the Storm Reacta Skuff product instead of the Powerhouse product.

I bought a bottle and found it has grit in it. It looks like the grit is where the 'skuff' feature comes from. I didn't notice a rougher surface after cleaning a couple of balls with it but the balls are clean.

Which products do you guys use to keep the oil out of your bowling balls?

for anyone who has used both products, which one is better?

I just started using 2 new products on the market provided by my Pro Shop Striking Results. I am really impressed with the Dull and Tack. . It is a product that is based on the same chemicals used in lane cleaners. Good cleaner for my GURU and LEVRG RESPONSE.

The Reacta Skuff is used for refinishing mostly, it definitely dulls shiny balls, and has pretty good grit in it. I use the Reacta Foam Cleaner, as well as the Reacta Shine Polich/Cleaner.

I've got both. I tend to like the Storm product as the surface is clean and dull like the name implies. The Powerhouse gel seems okay, but it probably works fine on both shiny and matte finished balls.
I'm with Steve H. with Storm's clean and shine and their foam cleaner as well. Of course, I used Kegel's Revive with pretty good results and have a bottle of Vise's ball cleaner which makes my ball squeaky clean. smile
I used a shammy from Master Products and even went so far as to make a ball oven from a food dehydrator which works wonders!

I use good ole mixed by me Simple Green and isopropyl alcohol. Works good for me. Also use Reacta Skuff to tune up each of my dull balls every 30 or so games.

I just use windex at the end of every session. I will use other products on the spinner.

My preference is Neo-Tac Hook It. It does the best job of removing belt marks and restoring dull and shiny surfaces, with minimal effort compared to other products I have tried. It's for use before and after, but not during USBC competition. Finding an online supplier was a problem for a while. But now, BuddiesProShop.com stocks it.

Side note. I was at a PBA East regional, and several balls got stuck in the ball return, including mine. When they came back, my ball was all gunked up. I reached in my bag for Powerhouse wipes, which are approved for use during USBC competition. I keep these in my bag for just such occasions. However, the tournament director was on top of me in a flash. He said they are not approved for use during PBA competition, and disqualified the ball from further use. Huh?! I never heard that before, and couldn't find that in the PBA rules. Oh well, learned something that day.

There all really the same. The same is press the
towel or sack hard. Its like a car the harder
you press the more clean.

I use good ole mixed by me Simple Green and isopropyl alcohol.

Same here, after about 12-14 games I give the ball a bath in hot water and DAWN dish soap and a light going over with a 1000 grit pad.

It's been working very well for me.
