I purchased a Columbia 300 blur pearl yesterday and it already has a large chip in it after only a couple games. Is that normal or should I request a refund/exchange?

You should definitely request an exchange through the Pro Shop where you purchased it. Columbia 300 balls are backed by a 1 year warranty.

What do you mean by "chip?" If it is a scratch or gouge caused by the lanes/equipment, that would considered wear and tear. I don't believe ball manufacturers will cover that under warranty as it is not a materials defect.
