Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

On a night when scoring was low across the leagues, I was actually in play for over average after two games, but then the wheels came off the wagon in the last game, with a pocket 7-10 in the 9th frame of that game being the unkindest cut. In the second game, I couldn't avoid 2-10 combinations, but struck out in the 10th to go over average in the game.

Result: 176-167-135=478
Average (18 games): 161
Average for last 9 games: 164
Next week's AVG+1 score: 488

Team won only the first game, with my bad third game wasting Donald's personal best one (148).

256+174+227=657 tonight. Actually started with the front 7 but then threw a bad shot in the 8th and missed the spare. Lost my strike line after that and struggled with a few opens early in the 2nd game, but recovered nicely in the 3rd with a clean 227. Bowled well enough to keep my average at 218 so I'll take it.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

Finally put together three decent games, but I didn't think I deserved decent in the last game because I did catch some breaks on Brooklyn hits near the end of the game. A 4-7-9 conversion in the 10th second game was saving it a bit, as well.

Result: 180-177-181=538
Average (21 games): 164
Average for last 9 games: 170
Next week's AVG+1 score: 508

Two bowlers on the other team shot over 700 tonight, and that's tough to beat in any league; we lost all four.

I didn't bowl last Saturday due to an outing and couldn't pre-bowl since it was position round and our league prohibited pre-bowling on position rounds. For the second week in a row we were in a forfeit situation since the other team couldn't field a legal line up and the part of my team that was there was able cover us to take all 7 points.

This week I showed up not knowing how things were going to go not throwing a ball in two weeks. First game didn't really go well, with 3 splits and a washout. One of those splits were in the twelfth but the rest were still opens and on top of only 4 strikes and rolled a 158. I was able to get things turned around, going clean for the next two games with games of 257 and 232 for a 647 series. This is the full break down of the night. Unfortunately we lost all 7 points as most of my team struggled.

Nice comeback in the last two games Mr. Saturday Night.

199+213+255=667 tonight. Had two opens in the first game but clean after that. Exploded for a six-pack in the 3rd game and had 19 strikes overall. Brought my average in this league up to 219.

Thanks Richie. I have to take it in stride because this house shot is stupid-easy, but I felt I was throwing the ball a lot better as well as hitting my target more consistently than I have been.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

This was a strange night, as I wanted the game to be on the line earlier in games, since my clutch bowling turned out to be better than my other bowling. I ended up throwing the first strike in the 10th second game to win, and just got a bad break on a 7 pin ending the last game that would have tied the game had the 7 fallen. The other thing I'll take out of the night is that I didn't miss any of my four single pins (and I had two 10s on the night), but just left too much "garbage" most of the rest of the night.

Result: 165-143-149=457
Average (24 games): 162
Average for last 9 games: 163
Next week's AVG+1 score: 492

Team won the first game more comfortably, so it ended up being a three point night for us.

What a difference sanding the approaches makes. The house finally re-did the approaches on 10/14. How bad were they before? A 3 to 4 board move could go from stopping on a dime to feeling like you were skating. And it went back and forth like that across each lane. So my last 15 game composite average before doing the approaches(3 nights a week) was 192 with a high set of 619. First 15 games after composite average is 217 with a low set of 636. Plus I'm not feeling like my knee is about to be blown out.

Haven't had a chance to post since I bowled league on Saturday as I was in a middle of moving for the past few days. The full story on my Bowlsk page is here. I basically struggled with ball reaction most of the night. Seemed to be over/under with the one ball I usually don't see it with, the Hy-Road. I tried the Misfit and Triton a few times and just had a lack of reaction. Finally a few frames into the last game I decided to us my plastic Tzone and reeled of 6 strikes in 8 attempts. Only missed the pocket once and it was just a bad shot. I had games of 184, 169 and 215 for a 568. As a team we only won the first game and lost by nearly 100 pins or more each of the last two games.
