Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I really only had it together in Game 2, with splits killing me in the first game, and then losing my release in my last game. The one good game did prove enough to help me to another 500.

Result: 160-198-148=506
Average (81 games): 166
Average for last 9 games: 173
Next week's AVG+1 score: 559

The one good game was also the only game the team won, but it ended up being by enough for total.

This is how things went on the lane for me last night. While I struggled early with hitting the pocket, I did get things going late in the first game with a 187, and continued into the second game with a 200. The last game not only did the wheels fall off but the whole axle did as well with a 123. I hit my ankle in the sixth frame and in the process tweaked my knee and had to change my approach and release. Of course things weren't going well before that either but it made it a little more difficult to try to turn things around at that point. I ended up with a 510 series. As a team we only won 2 of 7 points.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

After being sick for a few days, I was expecting just about anything in my performance spectrum tonight, and was happy it was at the higher end. Instead of losing steam as the night progressed, my scores improved each game, with my 211 third game also being clean, something else that has been rather rare this season.

Result: 177-180-211=568
Average (84 games): 167
Average for last 9 games: 179
Next week's AVG+1 score: 579

After Barry had two good games, I actually ended up high on the pair tonight, with Barry's two good games being the ones we won for three points (with the point for total).

After a streak of 5 weeks of below average sets, of which only one was even close, things went better tonight. This is the whole story of how things went on the lanes last night. After a washout to start the night I stayed clean until the third frame of the third game, and that was a missed 2 pin. I only had one other open two frames later. While it is shown as a missed 6 pin, I can't be for sure as I had it marked as a 6-10 spare but the score on the scoreboard didn't match with my Bowlsk score and I had to go back and figure out where I went wrong. Of course I would have preferred the Bowlsk version. I had games of 232, 245 and managed a 202 thanks to a late game turn around based off of going the my plastic ball. I finished with a 679, which was the second high series for my team but and no higher than fourth highest on the pair. A bowler on the opposite team threw an 819 at us with back to back 265 games followed by a 289 and another bowler put up a mid 700 set. We only won 2 of 7 points. We bowled well as a team but was out bowled plain and simple.

No honor scores this week, but 221, 233, 226, 278 for 958. Totally choked on the 1st ball tenth frame last game but I pitched a shutout so I'll take it. Feels like I'm on to something these days...

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

The lanes seemed a bit tighter tonight than they have been, and I found my best success when I was able to slow my feet down. A couple of splits in the first game cost me a chance to have all three games over average.

Result: 164-169-190=523
Average (87 games): 167
Average for last 9 games: 177
Next week's AVG+1 score: 560

Barry had a good night, but as Donald went tonight, so did we; fortunately, Donald had two games over average, and the game under his average was the only point we lost.

278, 192, 220, 226-916. Scored better than I bowled if I'm being honest. Lost a touch of timing, hope to get in and practice to get it back on the way to the last night of the season next week.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

This was one of the weirdest league nights of my second bowling life. First, I was basically bowling alone because Barry couldn't get out of a meeting and he and Donald had to pre-bowl for tonight on Sunday. Second, we were assigned to 29-30 for tonight, but had to be moved to 39-40 because of an issue with the scorer on 30 (the scorers are touchscreens, and the touchscreen at that lane wasn't responding even after three reboots). As a creature of habit, my first game suffered with all of the non-routine stuff. Thankfully, I was able to settle in, and my other two games were better, saving a 514 after a 131 first game.

Result: 131-201-182=514
Average (90 games): 167
Average for last 9 games: 178
Next week's AVG+1 score: 550

Bowling my average first game still meant we would have lost by two pins, so I'm not going to blame myself too much for that one. Our opponents were mostly over average in the other two games, so that yielded a point-less night.

My league season has (thankfully) come to an end. I moved this year, and ended up bowling in a notoriously low scoring center. I thought I'd be able to manage it, but I struggled all year long.

I averaged 193 for 60 games as a sub in one league, and 191 for 99 games in my regular league. My composite average will be about 12 pins lower than last year, bowling in three houses in Tucson.

The good news; in my regular league my team finished 3rd for a decent payout, my 191 was 4th in league average, I won the high game pot with 279 (no one else cracked 260) and my season best 712 was second high in the league behind a 718.

The high scores for the center this season across all leagues? 290 and 747. I bowled in a league last year where that wouldn't get you high score for the night.

Looking for a challenge (or a legal way to sandbag)? Come to Shake Rattle Bowl in Camp Verde, Arizona. The scores are low!

I didn't bowl last Saturday due to not feeling well after being sick Friday. I could have probably bowled with no issue but just didn't feel like bowling, which seems to be a common occurrence this season. It seems like such a chore just to go to the center most weeks, even when I was bowling good much less struggling. Most of my team feels the same way. For them the league just doesn't seem fun any more, and maybe that is part of it but I just don't feel the drive I once had to bowl. All of us of pretty much decided not to bowl next season.

As for this week's bowling, well here is the full breakdown. After a great start in the first game for a 241, things went downhill the second game which was a 182 and the plunge continued in the last game with a 171 for a 594 set, which somehow was high on the pair. The last two games I was just erratic. I either was missing my target completely or if I did hit it was either too wide or to tight at the break point. Missing two single pins as well as fouling on another that I did pick up didn't help nor missing several multiple pin clusters. As a team we were able to win 4 of 7 points, finally not having a losing series for the first time in over a month.
