Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

Three mostly better games, but Lou thought my usual release problem was creeping into my game again. Five splits, but I didn't miss much that was easy (only one missed single pin, a 2 that I hooked past).

Result: 155-171-167=493
Average (6 games): 154
Next week's AVG+1 score: 470

Lou got his 600 tonight, and the team won two games and total after losing the first game.

Found something out tonight, that I will share with all of you. Heed my words…

Don't bowl the night of a colonoscopy in the afternoon.

Not only was I a little sore, but, I also have some affects from the anesthetic. And, it didn't help that the nurse had to puncture the vein in my right hand because she couldn't find the one in my left elbow nor my wrist. Cheez!!

But, being a trouper, I had my wife drive me to the lanes. Being a head to head match point league, I thought I could make it. Haha, got snookered by first opponent as he missed shot after shot in practice. I didn't do too badly. So, the match was on.

I was giving him 21 pins. If I stayed clean with a double or so, he was sure to open twice. That was the plan, anyways.

All went well til the 10th. I was behind a handful of pins, and all I had to do was mark and fill. Then, I rolled a good ball, but left a 10. This was pressure. Bowling in my condition and facing my most dreaded pin for the match win.

I missed it, rolling right at the pin, only to watch my ball hook and miss barely to the left. Lost 191-197.

But, I had a talk with my next 2 opponents and decided that I would post bowl when I was feeling better. Mighty big of them. Have to bowl by Monday and submit my scores.

I think that's really good advice Dennis. Hope you feel better.

194+216+186=596 for me on China tonight. Looks like we're not going to get fresh oil for this league. Lanes were pretty dry and with 3 other lefties on the pair with me, it didn't help matters. Was happy with how I bowled overall, and just 3 opens the entire night. The last game I was burying the pocket and not carrying. Left 3 ringing 7s and a pocket 8-10. Couldn't get a double strike even after making adjustments which was frustrating. Averaging 203 in this league after 2 weeks, I'll take it. I feel I should be able to pull out a 210+ average in this league.

I start my summer league tonight - here's hoping I don't establish with a really high score - that always is bittersweet. Sweet because I rocked, but bitter because now I hand over a ton of pins to opponents and we start the season in a hole. . . LOL

Funny to see your post Dennis after having a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy myself on Wednesday and my fun league starting the same night. I was feeling okay after the dual procedure and wanted to bowl, but opted to follow the doctor's orders. My wife was a good sport and subbed for me. I kept score for the team and messed it up. Blame it on the anesthetic, hehe.

Looking forward to starting summer league next week. PBAX on Monday, and fun league on Wednesday.

Joe, if you had a colonoscopy and endoscopy at the same time, can they meet in the middle? That would be cool.

Hehe, nearest thing to a full body flossing. Fortunately, it was just a routine over-50 check, and all is well.

187+156+172=515 on TOC tonight. Not happy with that. Got stuck at work late and missed practice, arrived right when the match started. First shot I went three off the left but managed to pick up the spare. Second shot left a light 7, threw a bad shot on the spare and managed to pick off the 5 and the 6 without hitting the 3. Had a 4 bagger after that and I thought I was on my way but a couple of late opens on cluster spares cost me a chance at a 200 game. Those would be my nemesis in the last two games. Ball coming in weak and not hitting the headpin. Left more 1,3,9s than I want to count. Had trouble converting them. I did however make every one of my single pins. Tried making some different adjustments (speed, line, ball change) but nothing seemed to work.

Next week is the 40' Carmen Salvino. Going to practice on it Saturday. Seems like this pattern matches up with my game. According to EBT Bowling's website (6th pattern down) "Most EBT bowlers who have bowled this pattern found that a down and in attack around the second arrow yielded the best scores when utilizing a moderately aggressive bowling ball". That's my bread and butter shot right there, so hoping for my first sport 600 on this shot. Going to try some surface changes as well, I think I'll start by taking my Reax Pearl down to 2000 and my Sure Thing down to 1000 and see how that works in practice.

Well, was allowed to post bowl from my Thurs nite league. But, scores had to be e-mailed by Mon nite.

After, a grueling day in the garden with the wife, I took a short nap before going to the lanes. That was a mistake. Woke up stiff as a board, with aches and pains in the lower back.

Headed to the lanes, and got a pair of freshly oiled lanes. They gave me the buffer lanes for a league that was bowling. The rest of the house was dry as a bone, and not oiled since Sunday am, with plenty of use on them.

Oil or no oil, didn't matter, as I had trouble just bending. And, it showed in my scores. I had to bowl 4 games, since I did bowl 1 game last thurs nite. It was a chore. Started 188-187-189 with a split and an open in each game. I finally loosened up and finished with a 220, also with an open. That counted for 3 points out of 12. I will drop from my 3rd place standing.

Started my PBA Experience Trios League last night on the 2014 Cheetah.

215-205-185-235 so ended up at +40 for the night.

Threw the 65x2.5x30 IQ Tour Fusion all night long and had a really good look off the gutter. I started out playing 5 at the arrows out to 1 at the break and chased it left all night long (keeping the break at 1 all night).

210 average out the gate this year, not a bad start.

Next week we are on the Mark Roth Pattern.
