Hey all... great boards you have here; good advice and nice people. my ball seems to like dry lanes better then oily lanes. I'm on JV on my high school team, and on dry lanes i got a 159, 168, 172. however, on our home lanes which are oily, i just can't seem to get the right spot, and all my scores drastically fall. in addition, the ball always wants to "run away" to the right, which always gives me an odd spare. I have a finger-tip ball, 2-piece 'Stinger'. If anyone can help me out with any tips, or needs more info, just ask / reply.

When you play a slicker lane condition you really have to make sure you do not push the ball throught the swing. You need a free arm pendulum swing and a clean release. If you push on the ball at all, it will push the ball right through your target and out too far to recover.

Watch your speed on the ball as well, slicker lanes require a little slower speed, and a more consistant speed shot to shot. Dry lanes burn up a lot of the balls energy, so mistakes that add energy to the shot are rewarded. Adding energy on slick lanes is punished by bad leaves.

I have a Stinger and that ball maintains energy great even on arid lanes. So don't be afraid of moving to the outside on an oilier shot. The Stinger will not roll out. But as Coach04 has not over throw it or it will never react. You'll throw it through its breakpoint and loose reaction.

I'd love to bring my old Stinger out of retirement, but our conditions are just not dry enough for it. Mika K. bowled his TV 300 with one though.
