There is not just one way to layout a ball for a full roller, see Mo Pinel's article on ball layouts for a few different full roller layouts: http://www.morichbowling.com/resources/BTM_June_2010_Article.pdf

Great article! In addition to full roller layouts, I also enjoyed reading about preparing for the plastic ball tournament. It was especially cool to see validation of my "pancake-leverage" drilling technique I posted here in 2009:

By all do you mean ball?

What is in your arsenal currently? What surface and conditions do you bowl on? What do you want the ball to do? High speed and low revs might be a good match for a Lucid or a Nexxxus.

One note about the limitations on full roller drilling, the reason why layouts are limited is because the track has to go between the finger and thumb holes, if the layout caused the core to migrate to far one way or the other it would clip either the finger or the thumb hole.

Attached is a Brunswick Full Roller layout using a balance hole.

This layout is designed to produce length with a strong backend reaction.

I currently use this layout in my Storm Natural Pearl and when I throw a Full Roller with it the ball will have nice length with a really strong continuous back end once it hits the dry.

My favorite Full Roller drilling so far.

I noticed in a video that Billy Hardwick was using this same drilling so of course I wanted it as well. grin
