i agree...and i'm an old guy that bowled in a few PBA events when everyone was using plastic balls. my own opinion (that's all it is, one person's opinion) is that the object of the game is to get the highest score you can. Belmonte is a great, great bowler.

i don't even 'get' why he's called a two-handed bowler. he doesn't throw the ball with two hands, he just 'swings' it with two hands. his left hand is outta there before he releases the ball. he's a no-thumb bowler, not a two-hand bowler.
don't see how (or why) a bowler's arm-swing can be regulated, or banned.

There are quite a few possible interesting matchups, but they still need to be significant. Young guys need to earn their TV appearances.

I would like to see more Challenge/Clash/Grudge Matches, but where any player, sponsor, and/or their equipment manufacturer could challenge any another bowler head-to-head in a winner-takes-all match for any agreed amount, under any agreed conditions, like the action bowling of the past. If you have ever seen somebody bowl for more than $100/game, esp. when it is coming from their own pocket, it can be very exciting and fun to watch.

One match I would like to see is Osku versus Belmo on Tokyo (43 feet, 25.4 mL). I think Osku, using a fingertip grip, has an even stronger physical game than Belmo. 3 games total pins, $5,000 each, $10,000 to the winner. Billed as the "Battle of the 2-Handed Titans".

Who would YOU like to see in a head-to-head match?
USBC (2008-2016):
300s: 9
800s: 7
House: 239
Sport: 210

PBA (2014-2015): $850

Heavy: Nano, HyperCell, Eternal Cell
Medium: IQ Tour, Tour SiC, Tag
Light: Spare+, Tank, Rebel Tank
Spares: WD

Internet advice is offered free, as is, at your own risk.

This match was the first telecast I'd watched since about 2002 and I was impressed. After just getting back into bowling, it was very fun to watch. I haven't bowled since the late 90s, haven't really paid attention at all, and I was kind of amazed by how different the game looks compared to when I left. The two hander was the first big thing, but there were lots of other details.

I thought the commentary was fantastic. I remember Couch winning a lot in the 90s. When I left the game, Chris Barnes was still an amateur, and was taking some heat for not going pro (making a living as an amateur.) I remember Tommy Jones winning All-Events at Nationals one year, but didn't know he went on to be a successful pro. It was pretty cool to "catch up" with these guys.
A bowler from the 90s, giving it a shot again.

Current Average: 207 (ths), 189 (sport)
Throwing: Hyper Cell, Hy-Road, IQ Tour Pearl, White Dot

I would love to see Barnes/Mika. They've got a good friendly rivalry and I think it would be good TV.
Nowadays, I open bowl practice and go to Nationals every year.

Enough of Belmo beating up on Rash. Let's see Pete do it instead. Rash/Weber
