I would also see if the lanes that score tend to be the same lanes every week.

Topography is something most bowlers don't consider while bowling but it is the second most important thing that affects ball reaction after the oil pattern.

Most consider the factors of weather but topography has a bigger affect on reaction and carry.

This is a 32 team league. The Boys HS team was practicing on the last 8 lanes, so the oiler stopped oiling til they were done. Sat for about 45 mins.

The laneman continued oiling the final lanes and those were the trouble ones.

My contention is we have 1 y/o proanvilanes that require less oil then normal because they are slicker. So, the house has gone to a lighter viscosity oil. I believe it dissipates quickly, and possibly, unevenly. I was also told, last night by a house employee, that the machine has been spotty in its application. The laneman has been trying to fix it for a couple of weeks.

I witnessed the laneman oil 1&2, then take a reading. Strip and reapply oil. Take another reading. This went on for the 2 hours I was there practicing on Sunday. Must have taken 5-6 readings in that time. I'd love to have seen the tape results. But, that's a secret that won't be divulged. I'm sure the Mgr doesn't even know.

Ronnie Radom last night, first strike wasn't until the 6th end in the 2nd game. 5 Strikes from three games not a sniff at any fowls by any of the 8 of us on 4 lanes , and only saw a few doubles. 1 Board diffrence at 45ft was making 8 at the pins. Went 191-195-193. hope it helps a bit for this week.

Nice bowling ijohn!

This time I can contribute a bit as well.

202-235-213

A result that makes me very happy, since quite a few throws felt really good. I seem to be one to something.

OK, all but sk8 have reported. Adding the results and subtracting the team average yields the minimum score by sk8 for the team to make average of 1014.

Gm 1 - 185
Gm 2 - 210
Gm 3 - 222

All reachable scored for you sk8. Come on, big fellow.

Well I got there twice at least... 691 overall for me (clean).

269 (front 8, ring 10, stone 9)

218 (struck every shot on the left lane, only struck in 9th on right lane)

204 (struck every shot on right lane, only struck in 2nd on left lane)

Sorry I couldn't put anything bigger together but hopefully its enough to win some points.

Its a good run Sk8. should give us a few points this week .Looks like you caught my disease for the other week only striking on one lane, lets hope your normal game is catching and we can all put a run of strikes together.
On a bright note seems my bowling days might not be over . Alternative alley is staying open, now all they have to do is train some one to maintain the oiler, First time last night since the vacation [at that alley] and the lanes haven't seen oil for a month, ended up playing with a house ball only way I didn't put any rotation on the ball, and the only way to reach the pins everything else was hooking way too much, for some reason (yeah i do know )

OK, really sad last night, 223-240-158.

I saw them oil. But, after 2 practice shots, I went to my weakest ball immediately. It worked for 2 games. Then, there was nothing to shoot on left.

Started game 3 by leaving a 3-6 and picked off the 3.
Left the 6-10 and picked off the 6.
Left the 4-7 and rolled past the 4 to hit the 7.
Left the 6-7 split and picked it up.
Later, rolling my spare ball, I took the 2-4 off leaving the 5.
Then, I missed a 10, hooking to the left.

Just can't handle dryer conditions.

ITMT, there were 4 700's on our lanes. A urethane roller. A straight baller. And, 2 who swing the ball a lot. The last 2 had a lot of fun. I didn't.
