I recently developed some back pain that I ignored. It grew worse until it prevented me from bowling twice in one week. I thought that maybe it was too much weight. So I used a 15 pound ball that I had bought some time ago. The ball worked fine but my back was still an issue. I thought that maybe I was bending too much at the line and I was trying to think of all kinds of stuff.
I started exersizing my abs and my lower back. I payed a lot of attention to my abs and obliques. The exersize helped more than the lower ball weight.
Back to the ball. I was convinced that I would have to abandon 16lb balls and use 15lb balls. I know that the hit is really no different. I convinced myself that I could turn on the ball more easily and get more revs. I bought a particle pearl ball to get more length and backend on the condition I was bowling on. It's hard for me to use 15 pound balls. last night I switched back to the 16lb balls in the middle of a game and bowled much better. I am convinced that if I keep up my exersizing my back will improve a lot. I feel much better than I did a month ago. It is only stubborness that keeps me from seeing a chiropractor. That and difficulty getting time off in the summer.
I thought of making an appointment to see one during my vacation but I just got a notice for jury duty that falls right in the middle of my vacation. what a vacation huh?
Any thoughts?

here's an idea that probably won't help but who knows... try working your leg muscles out more... squats, leg presses, those kind of things... i had a bad back from other sports and that's how i fixed it, if you have better support then maybe it'll take the burden off your back?! not sure if this is good advice or not, just thought i'd throw it out there... good luck with that tho!
