Hi hi hi hi! Sorry I'm late and been absent from the forum for...dunno my last checkin. I've been cheating on bowling with softball, and well, it's been awesome.

Thrilled to finally be on a team with Richie! All this time, and we haven't been paired up. Weird. Anyway, glad I'm with the winning crew.

Left the old Wednesday league behind, and now that Bowlmor bought out AMF, I'm all the happier. With the other corporate house now and already seeing positive change: 236, 201, 181. Clean through first two, but busted on the third. Bah. Been forever since I've seen a clean set.

Mediocre start... just couldn't find the pocket the first 2 games... I think I had 5 splits the first game, but I wasn't the only one.

164,171,226 561/187avg.

I had the 811 resurfaced a few weeks ago, taking a little time to get it settled in.

Looks like all Wednesday night bowlers on this team, so I'll know quickly how we did. You guys should check your email inboxes. smile

Forgot to mention that my spare game was really "on" after the first game b/c I converted 2 of my 4 splits on the night, a baby and a tougher 4-7-9. smile

A lengthy reply

Jbungard, good series. Even better seires considering that you had to fight the lanes. I guess like our center 39/40 get the most wear. If there was only one bowler bowling in our center then you probably find him on 40.

Richie if the first game tends to be the worst bowl a practice game before leagues. I always bowl 1 game before leagues just to loosen up and get in a rhythm. Way to convert the spares and especially the splits. Usually a split is a sure open for me. I leave the nasty ones.

Domokun, I know how you feel about softball. When I played softball I played a couple nights a week and there seemed to be no time for bowling. I only got back into bowling after I stopped playing softball due to injuries, age, and not being able to play at the level I was accustomed to. I also regret that this happened and only wished I would of continued bowling at the time. But making up for it now with a renewed passion for the game. You must be at a Brunswick house now. Good series

Charlie98, 5 slpits the first game and a 164. Good damage control.

I didn't say much about mine last night. Highlight took my 2nd game into the 10th with a stone cold 8. Then a 10 pin for a 278. Last game maybe I should of changed balls but I felt it was too late for that. I did find a new line to finish the last game. 3 opens were all splits. Overall had a good night after almost not bowling due to a thumb issue. During my practice game before leagues felt extreme pain in my thumb when releasing the ball. After bowling the practice felt like it was bearable and went ahead and bowled. Going to skip any practice this week and hope it is not there next week.

About next week Ritchie I don't know how Wednesday will turnout. I have retirement dinner for a fellow employee that I am attending and may miss my 1st game so may only be able to report the last 2 if I do not bowl the first. I don't like pre bowling as an option. It's like a crapshoot getting a good pair of lanes to bowl on. If you prefer a sub I will understand.

BOSStull, if you miss first game only, you can enter a "B" for the first game next week so I know to use your blind for that game. The other two would count for score and average, and your bowling counts as not being "absent". smile

Ok will do. Hopefully I can get there for all 3 but 2 definitely.

Glad I could help out the first game Richie. Lanes 39 and 40 tend to break down rapidly so I go in with the mindset, "get all you can early on" because they will become more challenging as the evening goes. Moving deep isn't the answer as the insides tend to go away early due to the "morning conditioning/play during the day mostly between 10 to 10/head run only prior to league" idiosyncracies of Zone Glendale on Monday evenings. Nice bowling BOSStull. Nice, too, seeing you rolling Lane Masters/Legends equipment. I like their stuff alot but most of my LM/L stuff has more of a stretched span than I use now. I'm using a more relaxed fit now with about 12 degrees of offset using center line transition layouts now: Much more comfortable for my aging right hand wink

Nice start Domokun and nice finish Charlie98. That's what I like about 5-person rosters: Room to pick each other up from time to time.

Not bad...5 of 7 this week against Team 4, and we sort to first place by scratch pins. Let's hope this continues. laugh
