Some of us don't stop league bowling after winter leagues are over...this thread is for those of us who bowl summer leagues. Post what you hope to accomplish in your summer league, or let us know how you're doing so far if your summer league has already started. I'm probably going to be in my usual Wednesday night summer league. I'll probably know when I get a look at my winter league stats on BowlSK (I post a stat breakdown on my blog at the end of my winter league), but I might want to work on my spare game a bit more.

In a summer sport shot league. First night was last week, shot something like 795 for four games on Chameleon. Will be thrilled if I can end up with an average in the 190's but we'll see. Chameleon was confusing, too many options and I didn't really like ANY of them.

Still got two weeks left in my winter league, but going to be bowling the summer as well on Thursday nights. Looking forward to using the summer to take my game to the next level. Right now I'm at a 180 average but was bowling with older equipment up until a few weeks ago. Now I have a couple of balls and I think that will allow me to get to a 200 average or better. Still gotta work on some things with my release, but since it's still a house shot I don't think it will be that hard to get the extra 20 pins.

I am bowling 3 leagues this summer, one youth/adult, one youth house pattern, and one youth sport pattern league. I hope to be able to jump my house shot average to 215 as i have been averaging around 210, and i hope to be able to average somewhere around 190 on the sport shot, to prepare myself for the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships in July.

This is my final week for Fall/Winter leagues. Tonight and Tomorrow will end them.
Only signed up for a Peterson point league. It's head to head competition, 5 games per night and 3 matches. Good competition.
Starts in 2 weeks.

I still have four or five weeks left in my fall league, and I'm still debating whether I want to bowl over the summer. Two months ago I was bowling great, close to averaging 210 for the season, and quite happy with that. Then it came crashing and burning down, and has left me with the feeling that I just want to take a break.
BUT
I've been invited to bowl a scratch sport league on the USBC National team pattern with a group of very high caliber players who I could really learn a lot from. Not to mention I think it would be a good introduction to sport bowling as this year's team pattern doesn't appear all that difficult (compared to other sport patterns) and I like the idea of bowling 13 weeks on the same pattern, rather than changing every other week.
We'll see what happens.

It seems pretty popular for sport pattern leagues to pop up i the summer, probably because a full season may be a bit much for many. I will be joining a sport challenge league for the first time and I'm hoping I can keep a 175 avg. The good thing is it is a 4 game series on a different shot every other week, so you can adjust and learn how to play the pattern, then get a chance at bowling on it fresh and against other players. I may or may not be ready, but I'm hoping to learn how to adjust better and improve overall.

Kicked off Summer League last week and got out of the gate strong with a 547 (180, 165, 202). I try to base my goals on Execution and keeping my focus so my goals are to not let my mind wander and to keep my focus throughout the night. Also to make the adjustments I know I need to make as the night goes along and not be too stubborn to move as the lanes dictate That being said if I can do those thing I should be able to beat my average for last summer and last fall which were both exactly the same, 180, so I would like to shoot for the target of 185. I should also increase the number of 200 games which has been down over the past year because of lapses in focus.
