That's interesting. My league is on Thursdays but we won't bowl on July 4th this year (although I would have preferred if we did since the summer is so short and we're losing another Thursday in June to the center being rented out).

Another meh kind of night. 175, 190, 221 for 586. Average is at 195 for six games. I missed two single pins, and had four splits, but I'm starting to show signs of my early season self returning (that's a good thing) so I'm hoping I'm almost through this slump. My goal was to average 210 over the summer, so I need to turn it on soon.

For the first 5 weeks my average is up 10 pins from last year (180 in both Summer 2012 and Fall Winter 2012-2013 league). Had my 2nd 600 series of the season last night (222, 190, 194). Seem to be zeroed in mentally at this point. Hoping I can stay focused and keep executing like I have been. Bad thing is team lost all 4 points because of running into a hot team.

Started PBA Experience Trios last night and we started out on the 2013 Cheetah Pattern.

First thoughts were that the pattern played a little easier than the last couple renditions (that had an OB on 1-2) but interesting enough was a miss right caused the ball to hook uncontrollably across the head pin and misses left tended to over hook early but quickly started to "wiggle" as the oil moved around.

Overall it was a decent start for me, 190-147-207-269 to finish up +13 over the four game league set (813). Game two I missed a few easy spares as well as I had quite a few splits that just killed me score wise.

For the night I will take it, we were up against the wall (which always hooks) and we were on short so combined that typically makes it difficult but I was able to stay ahead of the transition somewhat decently.

For those that are interested, I was throwing my Reign of Power OOB, started the night 17-8, games two and three I moved a little left and went to 18-8 and my fill shot of game three I made the jump to 20-9 and stayed their the rest of the night. Mid way through game one I switched hand positions from my typical 55 degrees of axis rotation to bringing my index and pinkie together and dropped my axis of rotation to about 30 degrees and stayed with that throughout.

1st night of Shark tonight. I never felt 100% lined up in practice, but seeing another righty shooting the lights out with a Defiant Soul I decided to go to my Taboo. 1st frame, left a 3-6-10, spared it with my plastic, but liked what I saw from the ball reaction and said "I can work with this". Made a very small adjustment with my feet, made sure to keep my speed down and sighted at the dots instead of the arrows as usual. 10 in the pit for the next three shots. Our leadoff bowler was just about ready to bowl the fifth frame when the lights went out... GAHHHH! Might have had something to do with the violent thunderstorms and rumored tornado nearby. Power company said power would be out until at least 10:30 so we're going to pick it back up on Monday.

I threw some poor shots in the first game, which I eventually traced to a timing issue by the second game. A promising trend so far in this league is that I've only missed four single pin spares in nine games.

As a team, we couldn't get much going as far as running strikes, and we lost all eight. Dave had a 200 third game, and he told me he's been in that territory before.

In this new house for the summer, it's like I am learning how to bowl all over again... Last week I averaged 160 (202 then a 126...), this week started with a 160 again but ended up with a 540. My swing, timing, targeting were so off and it's only been two weeks since I finished fall. We'll see what happens next week I guess.

150+226+179=555 tonight. Broke in my Sure Thing which I just got the other day and I really like this ball. The problem for me tonight though was just inconsistency and bad spare shooting. Missed 3 easy spares in the first game and after coming back with a clean 2nd game and starting the 3rd with /,X,/,X,X left a 7-9 split then a few frames later whiffed a 7 pin and didn't strike for the rest of the game and could only manage 179. Still averaging over 200 so far though.

Started a new league today and was very disappointed in my performance i bowled 204+236+163 for a 603 this is after bowling 566 yesterday in a league where i averaged 230 and bowling poorly the day before as well.

Sometimes, it's just the order of the game scores. If they had been 163-204-236, you would have been more satisfied with improvement through the night.

A 163 final game leaves you with a sour taste on the night.
