187 225 257 for 669 series, won the last two games and total pins in my one on one matchup, team almost split. Why oh why do I have to get amped up, muscle the ball in my downswing, catching not enough hand and throwing the ball through the breakpoint? Rolled the Berserk all night, great ball if I just make shots.

>Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet) My optimum line was tight and outside of 10 tonight, and it seemed I forgot how to play out there (though I did get a taste of that in the tournament), but I did improve every game. I was mostly happy with my spare game, though I'd like the missed 3 pin back. Result: 155-168-181=504 Average (81 games): 173 Average for last 9 games: 164 Next week's AVG+1 score: 565 Team lost all four, with the other team making a late run in each game. Carl and Berta both had decent nights, with Brian adding a 152 second game.

Went to practice tonight, no lanes available but I managed to get in to sub for a men's handicap league.
Don't ya love when handicap is based on 200? <shrug>
Rolled 256, 212, 252 for 720. Helped the team to two games and total pins. Interesting how I perform when bowling for fun with no pressure...

Hey, we all do it from time to time. Keeping your emotions in check will minimize this. You notice that fewer and fewer guys on TV are releasing a lot of emotion on shots until their match is decided? It's too difficult to calm back down enough to make the shot you need if you let yourself get excited too soon in a match. In the Baker format, like they're using in the PBA league, bowlers have 5 frames to reel it in, so they can let it out a little more. Good recovery, though

How my night went as I recorded on Bowlsk. I ground out the first half of the first game having issues. During warm ups and even those first few frames if I got the ball wide at the break point it wouldn't make it back. I'm not sure if it was me or the condition. I tried to keep the ball straight but would pull. Try to move to a tight inside line but couldn't repeat. I then moved back to the original line and the ball was making the turn. Stayed clean the whole game and finished with a 233. The second game wasn't so clean. Three splits all for opens and one other open. I tried to adjust on a shot that I felt was good after a bad shot but over adjusted and again couldn't get the ball back to the pocket flush. Rolled a 178. Third game I start with a 4 bagger, turn the wrist a little early and leave a 7 pin, then another 4 bagger. Tenth shot the ball felt like it came off of fingers and thumb at the same time and came in light. Cleaned up the double wood, got a clean release and got it wide early and the ball plowed through the nose for a 6 count and a clean 253 for a 664 set. Unfortunately we only won 2 of 7 points.

Two decent series. One game that felt so good, until the 11th. I am lefty, left a wobbly 6 pin in the 11th. Converted. Ran the first 10 solidly prior. Sooo close to the #4 300. Overall, one horrible game out of the six, but progress was made otherwise with consistency.

I subbed twice last week. Once was a post bowl sub. Poor spare shooting ruined what would've been a nice first game. I have fallen in love with my super strong Marvel Pearl. It makes me look like a Cranker, even though I'm a Stroker with a strong release. Kind of like Pete Weber. ( Hah, I wish ) I start out playing 4th arrow. Three bagger then I missed a 10 pin. 4 bagger then a 10 pin spare. Tenth frame I leave double wood on a decent shot. I picked off the back pin for a 223. The oil has definitely pushed down and it takes me a couple of frames to adjust. I start off with a split then a 10 pin miss. I double then I make a couple of ten pins. I triple then 9 spare 6 in the tenth frame for a 201. Third game readjustment. Split the first frame. Then I reeled off a 5 bagger followed by a 4 pin spare, and a 2 pin spare. I finished with a 4 bagger for a 247 671 series I came back on Friday with my Marvel Pearl still playing the 4th arrow. I like playing there because I usually have that line all to myself. I alternated spares and strikes to start the first 4 frames. Then came a split and I got upset and put together a 4 bagger. I set up the tenth frame perfectly. I threw what looked like a great ball and got a 7-10 split. 204 Readjust. Strike, split, 2 pin spare. Double, 4 pin spare, triple to set up the tenth frame again. This time I whiffed a ten pin. 204 again Way more focused this game. I promise myself I would throw 12 great shots. I start off with a triple. The one bad shot this game, 3-6-10 spare. 10 pin spare. Double then 10 pin spare. I finish with a 4 bagger for a 245 653 series Without my 10th frame troubles the first two games, my series would've been a bit better. That 7-10 split hurt a lot. A strike would've won us the game.

192 first game. My game is in such a state of change right now, I sometimes can't tell if I'm just not making shots or if there's something up with the lanes. Turned out the lanes were just real tight down-lane, but with nobody else playing my area it took me a while to figure out.
Moved right a couple boards at the arrows, 226 and 248. Whiffed a ten pin in the 226 effort, for the last two games I had nothing but pocket strikes and ringing tens (so with a little bit of luck I could have had a much better result).
I guess the biggest change in my mental game from previous years, a bad first game used to mean I'd be crap for the rest of the night. These days I don't panic, I don't get mad, and I keep thinking and working til the last ball of the last game.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet) The BowlSK comment says it all: It was a "feast or famine" type of night that was famine more often than not with seven splits and an overall poor spare game. I remarked to one of my opponents after bowling tonight that I'm starting to think I can bowl better on tough shots...two of my last three league nights were under the 479 I posted in the city tournament. Result: 145-137-168=450 Average (84 games): 172 Average for last 9 games: 155 Next week's AVG+1 score: 550 As bad as I was, the team at least picked me up third game for the lone point of the night. Berta actually ended up having the high scratch series for my team.
