My old trusty Midnight Vibe split in half the other day, so now I'm looking to replace it. I've been looking at the DV8 Misfit. Everyone around here seems to love DV8, but I generally only ever see the high end stuff being thrown. I've read lots of reviews of people saying they love the Misfit, but in the videos I see a lot of deflection. I'm curious if it has enough core strength to carry as well as my Vibe did. Anyone here throw the Misfit, and what are your thoughts on it?

I don't own any DV8 equipment, but it appears that there are several different DV8 Misfits; there are the:

1. DV8 Misfit Green/White
2. DV8 Misfit Orange/Blue
3. DV8 Misfit Magenta/Yellow
4. DV8 Misfit Pearl Neon Yellow

If you so desire to purchase a DV8 Misfit, pick your poison. For the most part, their hook potentials are very similar to one another from what I can see. Also, it appears that the DV8 Misfits are considerably stronger than any of the Hammer Vibes.

I've had one for well over a year now. In the fall will make two years. If I have deflection issues it's usually user error. Either getting it wide, missing my mark inside early turn, those sort of things. If I do that with any other ball I have the problems. The ball drives and hits hard for me, a little less so currently with well over 100 games it's probably time for surface work. I still hits hard when I throw it right but just isn't recovering like it once did.

The Misfit line is much like most entry level balls form most other manufacturers. Same ball just different colors. Sometimes the different color additives might cause one version to hook a little more than others or snap a little harder, or so I've heard.

I own the orange/pink/yellow Misfit. It's way too angular for me. Pro Shop guy told me that althugh it seems that the only difference is color, a Bruns independent test showed that the orange/pink/yelow has more hook potential then the others.

Thre really is no difference other then color. So, somehow the color made the cover stronger. nut

BTW, I got it the week before I hurt my knee, and ued it twice. It's been in a box ever since. That's 1 year in a box.

The Pearl Misfit is the newest incarnation. The other 3 color schemes are the original Misfit and have the same specs (2.51 RG/0.032 Diff vs 2.545/0.051 for the Pearl).

OP, another ball you may want to consider is the Brunswick Ringer. It's also a light oil ball and not as angular as the Misfit or Misfit Pearl from what I've read/seen. Hoping to try out both balls myself at a demo day I'll be attending next month.

I got rid of my misfit, it was pin up, 4 inch pin, magenta and yellow after about 20 games I just got to of it, it is suck a condition ball, it is terrible to use on sport shots I have 400+ revs I should be getting an explosive reaction once I hit the pins but I leave many 8,9,10 pins I just hate it I would recommend a Columbia 300 Violent Eruption. Or a Vow
