I'm thinking about putting some strips of tape in an X on the PAP so I can better see the transitions. I want the tape to come off without needing to scrape it but not so easily that it comes off in the ball return.

Recommendations?

I would recommend removable dots, the kind you can purchase from an office supply store. I used them to determine my RPMs, axis tilt, and rotation. You can usually find them in different colors that will contrast the color of your ball. They do a good job of surviving the ball return, are very visible, and remove easily.

Masking tape works well for me.

Ok stupid question. From your PAP, which direction do you put tape/dots and how far?

Run it to the center of your grip. The tape shouldn't touch the lane surface that way plus should be visible from the approach the whole way down the lane.

I have used thumb tape in a pinch.

If you want to verify a pap just do a dot.

If you want to calculate revs use a line from your pap to right above your finger holes.

Either one works for calculating tilt and rotation.

I use masking tape and I run it from my PAP to just above the ring finger hole.
