Greg Roberts (43, Oshkosh, WI) threw only 11 strikes in his doubles set yesterday, but then matched that total just in the first game of singles for a 279 on the way to a 771 series (after games of 258 and 234) for the Regular Singles lead.

The top three places in Classified Team also changed hands yesterday with The Inexplicables out of Conetoe, NC settling into the lead after games of 931, 882, and 849 for a 2,662 total. Willie Andrews paced the team with a 610 set.

Action Realty and Action Realty 2, both out of Fargo, ND, took a page out of the "playbook" of Jeff Richgels' group and worked together to take two of the top three spots in Regular Team last night. Action Realty 2 took the lead with games of 1,025, 1,055, and 1,072 for a 3,152 total, while the companion team moved into third place with 3,089. It seems to me that if you break down the team pattern properly which I was able to do in 5 minutes the pattern will be high scoring, look for big numbers from the stronger teams

i bowled this past weekend. i thought the shot was a lot easier than last year. last year i didnt break 550, this year my low was 597 and my high was 628. im very happy with how i bowled. i used a defiant soul the whole time.

started team playing 8 board and ended playing 12. doubles i started around 10 and finished playing 16. there didnt seem to be as much out of bounds as there was last year, i didnt see nearly as many 3 counts. i think i only missed the head pin twice.

Breakpoint Pro Shop 2 (Sartell, MN) marked in all but 8 frames in posting games of 1,128, 1,124, and 1,106 for a 3,358 series and the Regular Team lead Sunday. Jeff Smith led the team w/ a 762 set. Towne and Country Lanes 1 (Hartland, WI) moved into second place several pairs away with a 3,328 effort, and Rancho Bowl 1 (Lompoc, CA) had the lead earlier in the day with 3,285.

I got my first close look at the team pattern last night, as the Coke league here bowls on the national pattern in the final third of their season. I saw the Storm bowlers using everything from the new Sync, to the Lucid, to a Frantic, with a couple of bowlers using the IQ Tour Pearl, all with some success. (Note: My bowling center has older AMF lanes.)
