I watched video number 6. I think that's your most recent addition.

The first major issue I see is with your push away. You are taking six steps. If you stick with a six step delivery, you should be pushing the ball away on your third step. As the heel of your thir step hits the ground, you should drop the ball freely and loosely into a swing. You appear to be drooping the ball a step late and your body is forcing you to stop your backswing short in order to try to keep you in time.

I would reccomend that you transition into a four step delivery, take larger steps, and focus on pushing the ball away in time, and swinging the ball freely. In a four step delivery the push is in the time with your first step. When the heel of the right foot hits the ground, drop the ball into the swing.

I see that all six videos are from the same night. I watched them all, and can see more clearly that your armswing is very tense. You are lowering the ball into the swing rather than dropping it freely, and squeezing the ball and shortening your backswing. This is what will cause you to pull the ball a lot (like in the first video) and make you ball hit like mush (like in the second video.)

Focus on loosening up that armswing, and letting the ball swing like a pendulum.

A big factor in the whole issue is usually bad ball fit. If you live in an area with a few pro shops, try to get the opinion of a few different drillers on your current fit. Better yet, ask a local coach (if there are any) or some scratch level bowlers (220-230 average.) They are non biased parties and will give you a straight answer. Its been said many times on this forum, "you can't out coach a bad ball fit."

I wonder about your ball fit, but like CoachJim I kind of assume most people don't have a correctly fitting ball.

Do you have injuries of any sort (bad knees, injured hip, that kind of thing?)

One thing that seems apparent is that you swing the ball around your body instead of getting into a side lean and keep your head over the swing slot. This makes your hand come over the top and prevents you from getting good leverage and a proper release.

Here is Doug Kent, he is a bigger guy, but like most pro-bowlers employs good side lean and keeps his head over the ball. (photo from bowingchat/wiki)

I don't think it will correct anything with your game if that's what you mean. If anything, it will give you the sense that you have more control over the ball, and controlling the ball is part of the problem.

What thoughts make you interested in a 14 pound ball? If you are having any sort of pain in your hands or wrist, this is likely because of a bad ball fit and squeezing the ball.
