Tom, Rich, and all out there in bowling land.
I am bowling joel. I will make this short. I have
been bowling 52 years. Started at ten using one
ball until last year. If you don't have a spare
ball get one. You will join a new group of bowlers, those that can beat the pins, lanes, and
oil paterns. I did and am as happy as a lark.
Yesterday I picked up 90% of my spares including
every ten pin a left. Unitl next time.
Bowling: America's past time. bowling joel

Colin, this is joel. Today I went to practice.
I used my spare ball for all spares. Only missed
4 spares in 4 games. 180-223-211-213.
I will never be without it again.
Bowling in America is the greatest. joel

Hi joel It just goes to how picking up your spares can improve your game. I bet you are wondering how you manage before. Keep up the good scores

Hi out there, bowling joel here.
I am still doing well with my spare ball but I
find that I will need to replace the inserts as
they are wearing out. It is very important to
change your inserts at least once a season if you
are in a league. I am also in a summer league and
I am getting good practice time this way.
Keep them falling and if you have not as yet given bowling a try do it you may like it and will surely make some new friends.
Good bowling

Hi,all today is monday and the senior league bowler did good. The use of the spare ball helped
a lot but the first game was the real winner. I
started with the first 5 and for the first time I
thought I was going to do it. All the seniors were
cheering for me but the sixth was a solid ten which I picked up and finished with 235. The next
game was 176 and the last 180. 591 series. To be
back in the grove is great.
I am glad I started using that spare ball.
Bowling is great and I love it. see you all next
time. bowling joel

Tom,Rich, and all.
MOnday is today and I bowled well. An old problem
came back into my game. First the good news.
190-176-170 spare ball helped again. Now for old
problem. My friend audrey looked over at my lane
as I was bowling and after bowling informed me
that I was again setting ball down behind me and
before foul line.Reason I was bending too low and
releasing ball behind me. There must be something
I can do to stop this. Can you help me one more
time. I am so close yet so far. bowling joel love

Hey Joel!

Glad to hear that you are making good progress! As far as the bending and releasing the ball behind the foul line may well be in the way that you are trying to get low to the foul line. Instead of leaning way forward, try keeping your back a little straighter, and almost get your backside into a sitting posture. It souds kind of odd, but you don't want to be facing straight down at the floor, but head up, shoulders back, and back straight. By doing this you will be better able to accelerate the shot on the downswing, which will also help to project the ball past the foul line. One thing that may be causing you to lean forward is dropping the ball early in your pushaway, rather than actually pushing the ball away from the body, extending your arm, and then letting the ball fall. Dropping the ball early in the pushaway can also lead to "muscleing" the ball back, and not having the smooth pendulum swing.
