I have a Natural and I end up using it a lot. I would like to have something in between the HEAT and the Natural though.

Maybe I'm nuts here, but looking at the picture of this ball drilling, I don't see how it could possibly be a legal drilling. The pin appears to be 1 1/2 to 2 inches above the ring finger and the CG is almost even with the ring finger vertically, but the balance hole is located approximately midway on the VAL. I would suspect that this ball has a hell of a lot of top weight unless the fingers are drilled halfway through the core (lol). I just can't see how this ball could way out legally.

It certainly is possible to have a ball drilled like that legally. I had a black widow pearl drilled similar too that. The back end on it was disgusting.

Dennis,

I have a Tropical Breeze Solid and it is a decent step down from my Heat Hybrid, might be worth a look.

Just started using my Frantic. Stroker bowler, with slow 14mph speed. Still adjusting to it 12lb. when it strikes it does go through and collect the pins as one. Lanes are dry where I am bowling so not alot of turn on my ball and thinking of using a storm gadget to increase my revs on it.

Hello everyone! I have been bowling on and off for 12 years now and I just started bowling again after a 7 year break. I decided to purchase a Virtual Nano Pearl and a Storm Frantic to start of fresh w/new equipment. All I can say is WOW! I love this ball! I love the skid/flip reaction it gives. I dont know why but I absolutely hate my NP but in love with this one. LOL. I have no idea what my rev rate is, and I am a stroker. I get wayyy more backend with this ball compared to my Nano. I originally wanted a ball for med and heavy oil conditions. This works wonders from medium to even light oil patterns. The ball just snaps hard in the backend and has alot more reaction than NP. Very angular and did I mention I really love my Frantic? Just ordered a Vivid and hopefully my arsenal will be complete. Oh and I already have a plastic for my spares.

I would say the Nano Pearl is just not the right ball for the conditions you are currently bowling on, or you are not in the right portion of the lane when throwing that ball. The Nano series is very oil dependent, as they are some of the most aggressive pieces of equipment on the planet, so if there is not enough oil the ball will simply burn up to early and give one the perception that the ball will not hook. As you progress and end up on heavier patterns and build up a comfort in moving further towards the center of the lane, you will find that Nano Pearl will be a good ball.

I have a Nano and never throw it in league, it is only brought out in tournaments because the ball simply won't see enough oil to be successful during anything other than that.

Glad you like the Frantic, it is a great ball and is definitely one of the better products at that price point, regardless of brand. There are a lot of people out there throwing them so you definitely chose the right ball!

^^I dunno but originally thought the Nano Pearl would work fantastic under heavy oil conditions. I even tried moving inside and playing 15 board but still could not get any reaction out of my NP. I know the local Pro Shop owner fairly well and we tried 500, 2000, 4000, polished and unpolished. In fact as my last resort he plugged it up and redrilled it to a stronger layout. Comparing the 2 balls, Frantic and Nano Pearl, the Frantic has much more backed reaction whereas the NP just simply has no energy. I have no idea whats going on but its the ONLY ball I ever purchased where I had to redrill it since I was not satisfied. It simply did not live up to its expectations as being a "heavy oil" ball. So I decided to order a Vivid, since I did not want to try even the Nano solid....sigh. I feel like I just wasted my money on the NP, but I do love my Storm Frantic tho, lol.

I currently have my Frantic drilled with the pin directly right of my ring bout half an inch over w/the cg directly below it. Sk8, since you are fairly knowledgeable, can I drill my Vivid the exact same way since I love the way my Frantic is laid out?
