Most of our fall/winter leagues have ended and/or are winding down, so some of us now turn our attentions to summer leagues. Some of you may have already started yours, so if you have, please post about how you've started. In any case, use your first post to this thread to tell us whether you're bowling in a THS league and/or a sport league, and what, if anything, you hope to accomplish.

My own summer participation is up in the air right now, as my bowling cousins have already told me they won't be bowling this summer (I think my cousin by blood has a back problem), and they've usually been my ride home during the summer. My brother might front me extra for cab rides, but I'm going to see if other arrangements can be made.

If I do bowl this summer, it'll probably be my usual Wednesday night THS league, but I doubt my team from last summer will return intact, as my buddy Rob is having surgery on both wrists (injuries from Tae Kwon Do). I'd love to bowl with Lou again, though, and I wouldn't mind new teammates in the other two spots. I'll likely be working on shoring up my release and my spare game (though the latter always seems to be a work in progress).

I'm doing a Tuesday night 6:30 THS league. My friend is doing the sport shot league. I wanted to do it too but all the teams were full already so frown.

Right now I'm signed up for a THS league. Get a ball at the end. I'm not sure I'll actually be able to afford it though, so we'll see what happens.

Practice over the summer here in Tucson can be frustrating since lanes lose their oil so quickly. Last year I developed a lot of bad habbits over the summer trying to fight fried lanes, so I may just be better off taking the summer off. Not really sure I want to though.

Im going to be bowling 2 leagues this summer, a THS doubles league, and a Sport Shot doubles league which will use pba kegel and some wtba patterns. Ill mainly be working on getting everything down and being consistant, im gonna try and figure out my ball fit and if i want to stick to 2 handing or go back to one, i feel like i will be more consistent with one.

I just found a duos league, nine bucks a week that includes a free pitcher of beer and pepsi every week. That sounds like a winner to me.

You ever take a day off of work and (when the phone rings) know not to answer it? Don't look at it, don't aknowledged it what so ever. Well, the phone rang and i committed the cardinal sin of answering. Guess what? I'm bowling a THS summer league. I just can't say no sometimes. It will be a tuesday night 3-person scratch league with teammates changing weekly depending on how everyone bowls. I actually like the league so i'm in.

My goals are two fold. First, work on my timing and posture. Second, work on my accuracy and line adjustments. The scores will be important but i want these two things more than a couple more 700's. Anyway, when i comment about Execution i will be referring to these things. Hey, i can still fish on the weekends...

I've decided not to bowl over the summer. I need a break. I'm getting very burned out. Last night, in the position round of league I bowled a 118, my season low game by 20 pins and that put the nail in the coffin. (Luckily we still won the quarter, along with winning the third quarter, and we're in the roll-off next week.)

I'm still planning on practicing on Sundays, and subbing maybe four or five times, but I'm not committing to anything.

I've also got the itch to start training for track running again. I've joined a local elite club, and will be training for the national club championships. These aren't professional/olympic level championships, but the competitors are still very good, and considered elite runners. In high school I was a very good miler, and I'm going to train myself back into shape. I'm very excited about that.

Started a 'Peterson Point League' last night. I'm bowling by only taking 1-step due to my knee injury. And, all other leagues were sanctioned and based handicap on the Fall league averages. I don't think I can bowl at my average. So, this league is only 1 man in head 2 head format.

5 games per night. First game is qualifying and sets structure as to who bowls who. Then you bowl a 2 game set against 1 opponent. Then, follow with a second 2 game set against another opponent on a different pair.

I rolled a clean 198 in game 1 qualifying. Then for some reason, I changed balls in my first h2h set. What a mistake, 179-134. My major problem is spare shooting taking 1 step. And, I missed 2, 10 pins in game 1 and 4 in game 2. Lost all 5 points.

Then, I was paired against the winner of the league from last year. I switched back to my ball used in qualifying and rolled 265-216 for my 2 game set. Winning both games and series.

Had a series of 990 for 5 which shakes out to 198 average. That's OK considering the way I have to bowl.
