197+138+147. Ouch. Halfway into the first game, the ball kept missing the target to the left. I thought I had a timing problem, but trying to fix it didn't really help. The ball was also 1 mph slower than usual. I guess I should take a look at fundamentals and make some time to practice. Don't know when that's going to happen.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

I'm finding that I'm gaining a measure of consistency back this summer. This was the second time this summer that I've posted back-to-back 600 series, and I didn't have a series that scored as high as tonight all last winter; you had to go back to my 700 to end last summer to find a higher-scoring night for me.

Result: 191-211-224=626
Average (36 games): 189
Average for last 9 games: 198
Next week's AVG+1 score: 592

Team took all eight, but the second game was interesting, as I had to convert a baby split, then get one more pin on the fill than the other team's anchor did; I left the baby again, but the other anchor left three pins on the deck to give us the single pin win. Berta nearly had her first 200 game by ending the night with a 199.

Finally had what I like to call a "correction" night last night. Lost 5 pins off my inflated summer league average on a pair that kicked my tail. I had a good look for most of the night on the left lane, but lost the right lane early and never really got it back. Right lane tightened up down lane, and nothing I threw worked on it. That other thread about carrydown not existing? Hmmm, not so much.
214-197-154-565. The 197 was the first sub-200 game of the summer, and left 4 splits in the 3rd game (made a 3-7, chopped a 4 off the 7 for my only non-split open of the night).
The one bright spot of the night- still no missed 7 pins, and I left more of them than probably any other night of the summer, so the grand total of missed 7s for the summer remains at 1 (33 games).

202, 189, 225, for a 616. Not a bad night, but something is definitely off in my approach. Then we stayed to do a prebowl for next week... 213, 182, 200, for a 595. The 213 I shot, took 7 x's in a row to close out. That's how bad and quick the lanes changed lol. Maybe once this wedding is finally over I'll get back to some more consistent bowling. 9 more days!

Shot a comfy 677 for the first night of our new league season. 213, 268, 196. Started off with the wrong ball, switched for the second game and threw a couple of [censored] shots in the last game.

Scores

First three games was with the Frantic (had to break down the lane a little bit in the first game and to get my swing loose), then noticed the ball not finishing on the fourth (lucky first frame strike). Switched to the Awesome Finish and all hell broke lose... Wondering if it would have been better keeping the Frantic and change my release while moving deeper inside...

198+174+198=570. I started by taking a line that was missing the breakpoint, but changed my target by two boards to get the ball out to it. I'm starting to deal with some numbness in my thumb and I may need to adjust the bevel and move some tape around. By the time I get my new ball drilled, I hope to have a solid grip.

180+234+159=573 last night. Second game was my season high. Actually had 74+ after 5 with 1 open and then had a 7 bagger to close it out. I was really in the zone. Unfortunately I couldn't get it done in the 3rd game. Had just one strike and 3 opens. Really thought I was going to get my first 600 but it's going to come. Just a matter of time.

Good news is my team took all 3 games. We entered the night 8 points out of 1st place. No idea how the 1st place team did but hopefully we gained some ground. Next week we play a blind team, hoping we can take another 8 points. We have two weeks left to try and get into first before position night (where we would bowl the same place team from the other division in the league).

204 204 238 = 646

Hard condition - everyone struggled. I started with my normal tweener line and hit the 6 . . . eyebrows raised, I figured I'd look around while waiting in line and noticed everyone dashing back to their bags to get different balls. I took this as a signal so I moved right 10 boards and rolled it down 5 (actually aimed at 3 so I'd HIT 5 - was consistent with it all night so why change, lol) and found myself in the right neighborhood. Few minor adjustments and I was lined up. I ended up crossing 6 out to about 3-4 and it gently flipped and swung into the pocket.

One open per game (game 1 was a missed 10 in the 10th, dang it; 2 and 3 were splits) and we took 3 from the vacant - had to beat our average.

Was fun! laugh
