Amen to that. I've practiced on it a few times and it sure is tough. I'm looking forward to mid-May when Jeff Richgels brings his team in to see what they can do on it. Brett Wolfe too. He's a local Arizona guy with the national sport series record, and was the 2002 ABC Masters Champion. He always uses a Faball Blue Hammer...interested to see how he'll shoot.

Robert Hanson (53, Tacoma, WA) has had two items on his Open Championships bucket list since his first appearance in 1984: a 300 game and an eagle. He crossed the former off last night after following games of 227 and 238 in singles with the ninth perfect game of the tournament.

Barely shot 1500...a disaster of a tournament. I was not alone in my struggles.

it was the toughest pattern I've ever bowled on by far. i was happy to have all 3 sets over 500. 527 537 548. low game 135 and high game 222. only 1 game over 200 and that was the game after my low game ever of 135 and 2 beers. my book average is 218.

Steve Harms (46, West Valley City, UT) had thrown one of his near-record 52 perfect games in last year's Open Championships at the National Bowling Stadium, and today, in doubles, he repeated the feat, becoming the 23rd bowler with multiple 300 games on the championship lanes and the 5th to throw one in consecutive years.

I bowled last week. Had a good look a couple times and always made one mistake too many. Shot 1660 w/ a 115 game on the back of team. We got a bad break pulling a team of idiots to cross with that wanted to play inside from the start. The 3rd game the shot was fried and no one could do anything.

It was fun though and it looks like I'll cash in doubles and maybe squeak something out in singles.

Matt Smith (36, Altoona, IA) threw the 12th 300 game of the tournament yesterday, capping a high-scoring weekend that also saw former Team USA member Derek Eoff and a CareerAthletes.com team led by another former Team USA member, John Szczerbinski, make runs at the Regular All-Events and Regular Team leads, respectively.
