New leaders emerged yesterday in the doubles event of both divisions, as Danny Smith (63, Lawrenceville, GA) and Darin Belisto (40, Oakwood, GA) took the Regular division lead with a 1,343 total, and Tim Luken (52, Gettysburg, SD) and Randy Tennant (55, Onida, SD) moved into the lead in the Classified division with 1,231. Tennant later posted a 605 series in singles to take the Classified lead in that event; he filled 29 of 30 frames in the singles effort.

I also shot the 18th and 19th of Feb. Before I went to Nationals we went and shot the BTM 123 and Bowlers Journal at Metro Bowl.At least this gave us a look. Also during the week befor the 18-19th I was at the alleys looking how the lanes broke down. Many guys were moving right. Bad Choice there, left is were you want to move.

Michael Daniels (47, Slidell, LA) had not made his Open Championships debut until this year, and had simply been hoping for a 30-clean performance and 3 600 series. He got his 30-clean in singles, posting games of 210, 267, and 257 to take the Regular Singles lead with a score of 734.

Note: Because a redesigned Bowl.com went live yesterday, the links to the older Bowl.com articles no longer work.

and another thing i dislike about the new bowl.com is that they removed to the link to older than the 2005 results....my first year going was 2004. i had a spread sheet with all my score but lost it due to a HD failure on my laptop where i had the spreadsheet

That'll teach you to back your data up, Vamp. Personally, I keep all of my logs on my thumb drive as well as the account I have with my ISP's backup and sharing service, which I use as a cloud drive.

Legend of Dung Ho out of Cerritos, CA posted games of 1,037, 1,073, and 978 for a 3,088 team score yesterday, currently good for the Regular Team lead. Two of the bowlers, including team captain Vayle Floria, competed collegiately at Cal. St.-Fullerton, with a third member of the team having been their coach. They recently added Michael Tucker of Las Vegas, the 1992 Regular All-Events champion, who led the team with a 648 series.

Wow, the scores sure are down so far this year. It will be interesting to see what the big name teams do.

Hopefully scoring stays down for the entirety of the tournament, that would be a refreshing change.
