Yes, very nice series Mike. Those are strong numbers. I'm not sure your average, but I assume you were above it in each game :0

Yeah, by a bit...

I really had a hard time last year, with lots of pain in my wrist and arm. Went back to my driller, the only guy I have do my equipment for 30+ years, and talked to him. We realized that a combination of thumb pitch, ball weight, and "not young anymore" had done it's job. Changed thumb pitches this summer, did alot of practice, video work, self diagnosis, research online.

Bottom line - my ending average last year was about 202. The last 10-12 weeks, I finally got my new release down, and I am averaging about 225. League average is still about 213-215. I am shooting for 220-225 for the end of the year.

Thanks for the kind words! After my experience, I really believe anyone can score consistantly well given a decent coach, some self reflection, and some dedication.

Nice shooting Mike. Sounds like we are off to a good start. I had a decent night. 257-225-192=674 Last game I switched balls a bit too late. I usually bowl all three games with my X Factor. I decided to use a ball with more surface for the night. I burned out my line and the deeper lines were already burnt. I switched to my X for the last 5 frames to salvage a 192.

Team wise we're red hot. We took 28 out of 30 points, in first and I'm third in points.

Looks like I'm going to have to go in and open bowl today or tomorrow. They cancelled men's league due to snow and ice up here north of Seattle. frown

Starting to melt today and should be pretty clear by tomorrow.

Went in this morning to open bowl. Really had to work for it today. Couldn't get much back end reaction at all, but I had some lucky drops, especially the last game. 185-226-266, 677.

I felt pretty fortunate to get that. Hopefully we took 'em all this week!

Better night last night than last week that is for sure!! Put up a 625 (226, 228, 171) and it could have been better. I was missing the transition in the 3rd game and was just sparing to maintain score. Thanks for picking me up last week with my poor game!

Sorry guys, my first and 3rd games were not up to par (average) at all. I'd like to blame my first game on almost falling during practice and slightly pulling a groin muscle in my left leg, but I wasn't settled all night.

185, 278, 197 for a 660.

I have had all my equipment surfaces redone for tournament next week, so we will see how that works for Monday.

That 278 was pretty sweet! I, on the other hand, did not bowl well at all tonight. 199-214-204, 617. Just really sub-par. Guess I should have known trouble was coming when my first frame was a Greek church.

Hope you guys did enough to hold me up (again).

I had a sub par night, but not because I bowled poorly. I actually bowled pretty well. The lanes had much more oil than normal. I played further right than I normally do and even though I hit my target on the money all night long. I got different results on each shot. I left a variety of single pin spares all night long. Thank goodness I was able to make most of my spares.

First game a clean 204, second game 213 with two missed spares ( 7 pin and a 10 pin ). Third game 189 with a single missed 10 pin. Shows you how hard strikes were to come by. So even though the score didn't show it, I thought I bowled pretty well considering. Who knows how much oil will be out there next week. I'll be ready for it. Looking back on it, I guess I should've used my Reign of Fire. That's why I have it right?

Again, not a great night, but above average for the series.

195, 234, 217 for a 646.

ALOT more oil this week, and we had open bowlers on our left lane before league. by the time they were done, the left was hooking about 3 boards more than the right. I ended up with my Resurgence @ 600 grit about 5 boards right of where the lanes play normally. I didn't feel myself muscling the ball the first game until I figured out the lanes, and was wondering why my wrist started hurting again.

Second game was 12 solid pocket shots. Left 10 pins in the 5th and 8th, and wiffed them both on the left. Struck every other shot. Even leaving the 10's but making them, should have been 268 game. I have a major tournament Sunday, where spare shooting will be very important, and that does not give me confidence in my spare game. I will be back out Thurs to fine tune adjustments to equipment and practice spares, especially 10s...
