Theres a new years day 8 game shootout going on at my local center, im curious if anyone thinks if its worth the 80$ to bowl with "Adults" which i almost am one, it would be good practice, i obviously dont plan on winning it seeing that tom daugherty might be there. I dont base any decision off my average because me and everyone else know that no matter what my average if my heads in it i can compete with the best of them. It will be on a sport compliant pattern more than likely a longer pattern seeing that the majority of people bowling it have higher rev rates, and the lane man is bowling it and is a no thumber. so any opinions on if i should bowl this?, it says open to all bowlers so i dont think that would stop me.

Definitely do it if you think you can have fun at it, keep your head, and perform well.

Tourneys are good experience.

I would say as long as the $80 dollars won't break you or put you out in any way do it. As for if it is a waste or not I don't think so. As long as you go focused and get some experience out of it should be positive. You will get to bowl in a competitive tournament atmosphere around good bowlers not to mention getting to bowl on a different pattern. Even if you don't post your best scores it should be a learning experience. Just make sure to get a good read on the lanes and try to make good decisions on how to play them. One shot at a time and try to pay attention to the "veteran" bowlers who are competing. You can always learn a lot from the guys who are usually there when its down to the last few at the end.

Well i decided that instead of bowling an adult tourney im gonna bowl a youth tourney on the 7th thats only a 30$ buy in, its still on sport conditions so im considering entering in the handicap division but im not sure

At this point honestly I would focus more on getting on the sport patterns in tournaments. If you are youth and can get the experience on the more difficult patterns without having to deal with the added factors money tournaments add to the mix go for it. 30 is easier on the bank account too.

yeah and i can put in a little extra if i bowl scratch and get a shot at junior gold after i pick my average up, this tournament runs every month so i can do it consistently, and theres a junior bowlers tour starting in florida so ill be getting into that too
