How would you guys compare Frantic to Hy-Road?

Need something much longer and a bit more angular.

Got a new HG by the way.

Petya, I have both fisrt let me strat off by saying they are not layed out the same. The Hy-Road was given to me and it is drilled pin below the fingers, The frantic is drilled with the pin to the right and even with the botom of my finger hole, I have a picture of it on here somewhere just search post by me. Anyway that is exactly why I wanted the Frantic I love the Hy- Road but I can only get about a game out of it before the snap is a bit to much for me. The Frantic plays longer but has that quick hard sanp to the pocket and I have no issues using it on a fresh THS which at the houses I bowl at I would call a medium to just below heavy shot. I feel Storm could have sold the Frantic in the same priceline as the HY-Road and still sold as many. Its a great Ball at a greater price. I throw abot 16mph with a round 200 revs so I guess I would be considered a stroker.

I hate Storm, so many new releases , I don't need that many balls, my VR Solid is still undrilled, and every time I want to try something from a different company they come up with the balls that I kind of wanted ( or they made me want them, lol).
Frantic is still unvaliable in Russia, but I will buy it as soon as it comes out laugh

I have a Victory Road and have used a Frantic. My take is both are lane condition specific. The VR holds its line on heavier oil but becomes iffy when the oil breaks down. The Frantic is better on a THS but not in our heavy oil. It also seems to hold in later games better, or on used house conditions.

So, I would say on a house shot and weaker conditions, the Frantic wins. On heavier, tournament conditions, the VR wins and the Frantic wouldn't come out of the bag.

I bowl at 3 different centers. There are no Frantics at 1 house with heaver conditions, but I use and see VR's. Yet, in the Chain house, with lighter conditions, Frantics are visible. And, I can't use my VR. It's too strong for conditions.

Sounds like new ball syndrome and possibly some mild cases of denial about his game.

And what's wrong with aging arsenals exactly? I still pull out my Scout and rip people to shreds with that ball and it's pushin 6 years old. rotfl

And, he is now up to 16 balls, retiring some recent purchases. The Frantic was one retired.

Well, my teammate prides himself in his ability for dual angle layouts. He lays out his own balls, and brings them to a driller who argues with him that the ball won't react as it is intended. But, drills it anyway.

After a few games, he realizes the ball just won't work the way it is drilled. He won't plug and redrill a ball. So, he donates it to the local HS team.

He is my main source when I quote that some balls just don't work with unusual drillings, or for that matter, some styles. He is a Silver Coach and is Pro Shop Drilling certified. He just doesn't have a drill.

I have thought about this ball but I need something weaker than my HEAT. There is a guy in my league with this and it hooks a lot for him and he has a lot less hand than I do. I am leaning more toward the Breeze.

If you want a ball weaker than your heat then yes a breeze would be a good choice or a natural. I have my orig tropical that i use for my lower end ball and it works great when the frantic starts to hook up to much.
