Wednesday night's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

My night the other night was not great, but not terrible, either. I only missed a couple of spares in the "easy" category (one a 10, of course, but I made the other one I had an opportunity to shoot at), and also converted on a couple of the splits (a 4-5 and, later, a 4-7-9, which I don't usually convert). In the end, I only missed my +1 by a single pin.

Result: 195-168-160=523
Average (21 games): 172
Average for last 9 games: 173
Next week's AVG+1 score: 520

As for the team, it seemed my league's secretary swept us all by himself, as he posted a 765, a new personal best for him, he told me at the end of the night. Indeed, a missed single pin and a nose shot that left a 3-6-9-10 (which he made) were the only things that kept him from being an 800 threat. The latter leave was the only blemish on a 276 second game.

The last 3 Weds we take 2 and lose 1 and wood? This week we really had to bowl as a team so I guess we did good taking 4. I went 227-245-195. We are seven weeks into it and I am having the best start to any league I've ever been in. No honor scores yet but I'm at a 222 pace good enough for 1st high average. Weds are a mixed league so the competition isn't overwhelming but there are a handful of players that will give me a run for that top spot before the league is over. That is actually a good thing it'll keep me honest.

The roller coaster night I had as recorded on Bowlsk. In warm ups I would live in the pocket on the shots that were meant for it, I did throw at a few 10s and left side shots on the first ball a couple of times. When scoring started I left back to back 9 pins, adjusted for them and my Execution went out the window. I would miss target, flub the release and any number of other things. When I thought I had a good shot the reaction was suspect, skidding a little more when I moved a couple of boards in and taking jumping when I moved back out. This was with my Misfit which is still at factory which ends with a high gloss polish. So in the tenth frame I went to the Triton Elite which is at 2000 Abralon. I couldn't hurt as the game was already over being down by over 100 and I'm the anchor. Throw one good ball for a strike, get a Brooklyn for the second on a miss to the left and a gutter on the last after I nail my ankle. Those were my only strikes of the game. This was a 144 game.

The second game started with another split from a shot I actually liked so I made a move. I only completely missed the pocket one other time this game and that was the third frame when I released the ball with my hand on the side almost like a hand shake but I was already in the handshake. Needless to say the ball went dead straight. Unfortunately 3 of my 4 none strikes were opens. The fourth was the twelfth shot of the game which was a flush 9 pin, rolling a 213. I stepped up in the 10th knowing I needed two strikes and just keep the ball on the lane for us to win this game and came through.

The last game didn't start of so well, I was marking but was missing the pocket for multiple reasons. Then I was light for several reasons, only getting 3 flush pocket shots which lead to my 3 strikes. I had two opens, and unfortunately the second was the tenth frame, for a 172. Two of the bowlers from the other team didn't do as well, one not even breaking 100 with a 160something average, and our lead off posted his highest game for us to win by over 100 to take total. We took 5 of 7 points, stopping our skid of 16 points straight lost.

I've done a lot of bowling the last two weeks. Well a lot for me anyway. I'm down to one league a week now because they cost too much.
Last tuesday 176 with three split opens. Split in the ninth. Game two was a good game. 9 spare, double. 9 spare strike to the fill ball, 268. Game three whiffed the 6-10 in a 203 game. 647 series. I took 2 match points and series.
Friday I subbed, 227 first game with the front 5. Second game 203 missed one ten pin. Game three whiffed the 6-10 in another 203 game. 633 series. swept the points.
This past tuesday, 180 first game. Two split opens and a missed 10 pin. Third game 189 featuring a 1-10 spare open. Wow. Third game Strike, 3 pin whiff. Strike to the 10th frame, 9 spare 9 for a 246. 615 series. One match point
Friday subbed again. First game 211. Finished pretty strong. Second game 212 with the last 5 strikes. Third game 197. Lost carry. Left 3 ringing ten pins. Actually this house my carry seems much worse than the other house. I think I just concentrate much more at this house.
Yesterday I bowled in an adult child tournament. 225-219-197=641 series. Near the end of the second game our pair broke down. They moved us and that messed up my flow. Transition was different. I was still happy with my bowling. I'm much more consistent than I was in the past. I've learned a lot as a coach. I've begun to listen to my own coaching. My average is much higher now than it usually is at this stage of the season. Usually I catch fire as the season becomes much colder. My release becomes much cleaner. Makes sense I guess. You'd think I would be smart enough to compensate in the warmer months. Big dummy.

211, 219, 192 for a 622 series. Didn't have a mark in the 10th frame all night, one game opened in both the 9th and the 10th...pathetic.

Could've been so much better but I just couldn't finish strong tonight.

Our team took gas again, winning 1 game and individually, we only won 3 of 12 games. I won 2.

My only opens were back to back 4-9 splits in game 2.

I shot a 675 tonight. Had a 256-226-193. My highest series for that league and have a 206 average. My team however is on a losing streak. Teammates are having a rough time getting their ball to the pocket and missing spares.

Had a 238, 228, 243 tonight for a 709 series (high series is a 717). Was also my 2nd ever clean series smile

Would have been nice if my virtual league scores were Wednesday nights with this type of night....

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to BowlSK sheet)

After my lesson last Thursday, this may have been the breakthrough I was looking for. I just missed 600, but I only had one open frame in each game, two of those on splits. My spare game was there pretty much all night, as well, as I was close to 95% on "makeable" spares, and count the 10 pins: 7 of them I could shoot at, and 6 of them made. laugh

Result: 185-223-191=599
Average (24 games)>: 176
Average for last 9 games: 181
Next week's AVG+1 score: 548

The team had three members over average in all three games, but our opponents bowled well, too, so we still lost two games and total pins. Oh well, at least I didn't hurt my team by making big mistakes tonight. smile

My team is too good to be this bad. But, it seems our opponents enjoy bowling against us as much as we enjoy bowling. Our averages tonight were 220, 212, 206, 204 and 199. We shot 699, 666, 618, 612, and 604. We gave a team 128 pins in cap, and we only won 1 game. Our record now is 24-34 in points. We just can't buy a winning night.

I shot 183-238-245 for 666.
2 opens in game 1, a missed 10 and a washout, 4 strikes
1 open in game 2, a chopped bucket in the first frame, 8 strikes.
2 opens in game 3, a missed 10 and a split, 9 strikes.
