Highlights of game 1: Missed 7 and missed 10... 214
Game 2: Missed 10, chopped 6 off 10, and 2-4 off 5... 18?
Game 3: Missed 10, Split, split... 18?

Really had trouble with the dry lane conditions and wicked back end. Tried everything to tame it, unsuccessfully.

Team won 2 games and series for a total of 20 points of 30. I lost 2 games H2h.

Good shooting TBill as much as it hurts me to say it! smile

I had a better night as well 202,207,208 1 open all night, left the 8 on my spare shot I hit it but it just slid to the 7 pin spot and stayed up! On the psoitive side every shot felt good coming off my hand and I had about a 4 board area I could work with.

Worked all summer on my release and my hand turning early, and thought I had it under control.
The first two weeks of league....the early turning is back, and my scores stink on ice. Its early, but I have GOT TO GET this under control.

Its extremely frustrating and I have thoughts of giving up,..but they are just thoughts.
I know I can bowl better...I've done it. Its been over a year long funk I have been in, I am due to get it together.

Calling my coach now....

I'm doing 3 leagues and I've been all over the place this month, and I can't figure it out because it feels like my form and release is the same.

Wed 9/7 407 series (and I had to pick up a split in the 10th of game three just to break 400--ouch!)
Fri 9/9 505 series
Mon 9/12 832 series (4 game league)
Wed 9/14 493 series
Fri 9/16 507 series
Mon 9/19 810 series (4 game league)

So I'm averaging 150 on Wednesdays, 168 on Fridays, and 206 the last two Mondays to move my average in that league to 171 (the league's been 11 weeks so far as it started in the summer). This kind of variance isn't even rational.

12-13 Averages:
177 full season league
171/175 (both halves short-season)

First "Triple Deucey" 3/28/2012: 226-212-202 for 640.

Are they in the same center? If so are you sure you are getting the same pattern every night? Different centers will play different, even different pairs in the same center will. Sometimes the center lays out different patterns on different nights depending on the leagues that are bowling that night.

Is there an issue you are have in one league that you aren't in the others?

What kind of leagues are they when compared to each other? What's the level of competition in each of the leagues? Differences like that can have an effect on the mental part of bowling and influence how well or poorly you bowl.

It's the same center, opposite ends of the house, but since they replaced all the lanes in August and put out new pins, there really shouldn't be a variance as to how one end plays vs. the other. (Before the renovation, 5-6, 15-16, and 29-30 were the pairs of death and if you bowled a series within 30 pins of your average on them it was a good night.)

Monday is billed as a practice league because the prize fund is virtually nonexistent and everybody gets 6 free game cards every week. They put 4 or 6 bowlers on each pair and while you are technically bowling against someone for standing points, I don't take the competition seriously, I just bowl. The caliber runs the gamut, we have a 200+ bowler and a few who are under 120 and a bunch between 165-190. It's at 7 so it's a fresh shot.

Wednesday is a 9:15 scheduled league which normally doesn't see a ball rolled until about 9:40 because the women's league before us goes pretty slow. It's 4 person mixed and the scores are all over the place. It's a social league that doesn't finish until after closing time.

Friday is a 9:30 doubles league that follows a somewhat serious and decent 6:45 mixed league so we usually get started on time. I'm not going to win any season awards, but if I can stay near 170 I can hang in this league. It's not from me, but the bar does a pretty good business during this league as one might expect from a late Friday group.

There are 6 of us who do all three of these leagues. For most of us, Wednesday seems to be the worst bowling night of the three, but none of the rest are spreading their scores out like I've been.

The craziest part is, before the lanes were replaced, I had only one 800 series on Mondays in over a year (and it was an 808 with a 267 and a few 180s) and I had a couple weeks this summer when I was under 600, now I've gone over the first two weeks with the new lanes. But on Wednesdays, I'm down 10 pins since last season and five of my six games have been horrendous (wonder where that 189 came from last week, I'd be around a buck 40 without that one). This is my first go at Fridays.

Another kinda frustrating week decent scores but not getting the really big series I should be. Just not getting deep enough inside and trying to force my line when they start to break down. I need to just get deep in and keep it in the oil, even if it means playing 25. 257 with open in first, 215 blew shot in 10th by 9 pin after coming in a bit high, mental lapse, 201 opened in 5th and just came in high until I moved wayyyy in. I had two girls with plastics all over the lanes and the rest were playing in/out and everywhere in between with all sponge balls. Moved the shot quick. I really wanted to go 700, oh well.
