Well, the season has started. I subbed last night and other than a first game 214 (clean) nothing went as expected. The shot seemed long and thin. No sooner did i get shifted right i started going back left. By the third game, oil was completely gone..

It wouldn't have been so bad but i started forcing and thats not what i want to be doing. I consider last night a minor setback. No time to overthink anything since tonight's my main league and an oppertunity to regroup. Maybe i can bring a little more focus with me tonight and find that oil.

Wow, was that ever wishful thinking..Take one season off and the house shot goes right down the ........

I've NEVER seen the approaches that bad, then followed by a horrific shot. After two nights i'm sitting at an average of 168, one heck of a sore slide knee, and about 20% of my confidence left. I have absolutely no answer for this. Two teams walked out before shadowballs was even over with and the rest of us got pummled. In a league full of 200+ average bowlers, maybe 3 got over 600.

(Secretary) Not that it makes it any better but last night goes down as the lowest night ever in the Classic. There were 13 series in the 400's a 370 and only 5 bowlers broke 600.

Well, my first night was Monday night and like you oil seemed thin, maybe it was where the house was so warm not sure. Anyway first game 158 to many opens, second game 161, ditto. the last game I finally realized to bowl where the lanes were telling me to, not where I was comfortable. Moved my feet to 30 targeted 20 break point to around 12, and got the ball a bit deeper down the lane and pulled off a 220 to make me want to go back again next week lol.

Started new league last night and team went 4-0. I am in the midst of my best bowling stretch over the last 3 weeks that I have ever had, be it pre or post comeback. This week I got my 3rd consecutive 600 series (barely). I shot 201, 221, and 178. That makes six 200 games out of the last nine. I am in a zone and just need to keep my focus like it is now.

Don't know how the house changed the shot, but it is working to get scores higher. After 2 nights, I sit at 228 average, and am 12th on the list in average. Top man is 259 and there are 4 over 240. I know it's early, but his is a radical change from the past year.

I did talk with the laneman and he said he had an expert from Kegel come to the lanes and adjust the shot. He watched 3 bowlers roll repeated shots, and charted their ball motions. The result was a longer pattern, but more tapered. More oil in the middle. This moves most bowlers inside farther, and gives the strokers a back end finish.

Well, it's working.

Week 2 according to Bowlsk. It wasn't a pretty night. Had a lot of issues getting the ball to the right even though I wasn't really swinging the ball out that much, but a constant miss inside and up the boards results in a lot of leaves and many several I didn't convert including 4 splits. I did have 9 of 12 decent shots in the last game that resulted in 7 strikes and two 10 pins.

Holy crap, did you seriously manage to pull a shot 15 boards inside!?

I wouldn't say it was all from pulling the ball as some of it was the body not being squared with my intended line, but a 15 board miss of target just isn't good. Except for the missed 10 pins which were close but just to the left, all of my missed right side spares, the ball never got right of the 25 board. Serious alignment issues and not just letting the ball swing.

First week of bowling was last Thursday when it was 95 degrees out and this is why I don't bowl summer and has took me till now to post my scores. Not a single one of my bowling balls fit properly.
165,154,139 AWESOME!!!!
5 ball switches and resorted to using my white dot for my go to ball in the 3rd game and actually left a stone 8 pin with it. Good times. Thank god its a high of 70 all week. Looking forward to this week. You should of heard all the bashing I took from my teammates and others which I can't post on this family site.

Yeah I'd like to think that its because my team won the championship last year and I shot 298,245 in it but its really because its 3 minutes from my house and an earlier start time. Yep they redid the house so hopefully my ball withstands the abuse the lanes gave it before they redid them.

Dennis
to add to the Antioch house, just discovered they are using 37ft christmas tree pattern which is way different than Lakes. Should be interesting and alittle getting use to
