Which one are you? on Left or on Right?

Left seems to have the ball way late - almost plant and then the ball comes. The ball moves well after the first step has been taken - should move the ball WHEN the first is taken. This interrupts balance all the way through.

Right seems to be doing just a three step, and thus has no balance at the end. He drops off to the right at delivery.

Try pushing the ball down at a 45* angle instead of up to a distance the same as your first step. Pushing up like you are creates a lot of tension in the swing.

well, first, I'd get you to push out your ball WITH your first step. If you watch pretty much all videos talking about four-step approaches, your ball should EXTEND on the first step, DROP with the second step. Now, if you let the ball just swing (think pendulum - no muscle, just a pendulum) your timing should follow so you can slide with your last step pretty nicely.

Don't be like me and overthink everything to death. . . LOL

Try it first - push out ball and foot at the same time; then drop the ball (not literally. . . that hurts your toe) when you start your second step, then let the pendulum motion guide you through your third and fourth steps.

Probably the best vid I've seen of this is Chris Barnes'

Looks like you as having to squeeze the ball to hang onto it, you can see the ball slow down after you put it in motion. You might need to get your grip fixed so you don't have to squeeze the thumb to hang onto it.

Thanks guys for the comment, i will werk on it and will upload my training video once i corrected the mistakes.

Coach Jim...how can u tell that i am gripping the ball.Indeed this is one of the major issues that i had.either too loose or too tight.if i apply tape in it my thumb tends to get stuck and if i remove it i will drop the ball..what else can be done rectify this problem?

You can tell that you are squeezing because you see the ball slow down after it starts in motion. If you weren't squeezing/bending the thumb in the hole, the ball would swing back free and you wouldn't have to pull the ball back.

Start by making sure your ball fits as described in the following articles:

http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/btm03_files/btm3.htm
http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/btm04_files/btm4.htm
http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/btm05_files/btm5.htm

Tape in the thumb is causing you to hang onto the ball because you are still squeezing/bending the thumb in the hole, causing you to hang up in the hole. The ball should hang onto you, not the other way around. If you have to squeeze/bend the thumb in the hole to hang onto it, then you also in turn have to let the ball go at the bottom of the swing at the right time, if you don't then it will not come off your hand.
