Bowled in a youth tournament. 131-125-164-420.The 164 had a string of 3 strikes (2 brooklyns). The 131 started 8/ X 8/ 7/ It was a very hard sport shot. High series was 620. There were multiple 215+ average bowlers that shot under 500 which is just weird to watch.

I had 100% carry, but only hit the pocket 5 times..... I thought sport patterns would be hard to adjust to but a 420 series is just brutal. I missed a 10 pin because I have never had to throw straight at it. 2 boards left of target and it was a washout, 2 boards right and it was all headpin.

Anyway it showed me areas I need improvement in. Spares and most importantly I must increase my rev rate. It also showed me just how good the pros really are.

Bowled practice this morning and managed 6 games between 191 and 197, prior my highest game had been 183. Was a good practice morning ended up throwing 14 games all over 170. The house was laying down oil when I went in, so fresh lanes:)

I bowled in the supercup first round tonight. It's a closing tournament in our center. I had a good evening.

204, 160, 178, 188 = 730

182.5 average

Helped us move to first place smile

Went to practice today to get ready for summer league that starts on Thursday. I have not been bowling in about 10 days so I thought I would get few games in.

First game not to bad after opening with two splits..194. Next game a little better 211, then I did something to my back.

I should have quit, but thought I could work it know, after a 10 day lay off..a few kinks are expected.

Well I just got progressively worse, and now I can hardly move.

I'm taking an "Aleve" and hitting the sack.
Hopefully I'm good tommorow.

These "reminders" that I am not as young as I think I am....are painfull. laugh

OK, Wish I knew what I do wrong.....
First game I started off on 2 opens and then 5 in a row.
Second game was not too bad.
But the third game was a mess I thre three pocket shots that left the 4-9 and missed my mark 2 boards right leaving me with 1-2-4-10
If I figure out why I get so bad after rolling so well I might be ok...
But I am using a 10# ball.

The lanes change as they're used. That could be all it takes to mess you up.

Last night was our roll off for my Classic League. I had been bowling pretty terrible in that league for the last few weeks or so, I really wanted to turn it around and this was the week to do it.

I decided the best way to fix myself on mondays (not struggling on other leagues) is to gain control of the break point again, so I pulled my index and pinkie in and just let the ball tumble down lane and flatten out at the pocket.

So I go front 7, stone 8, sheet for a 279. This was my best game by far in that league in a month and near perfect on the scoreboard as well. Had the one 8 pin leave that easily could have struck but I am sure I caught a break in there somewhere that could have left a 10 pin.

We ended up losing in the first game of the roll-off by 3 pins but it was still a great way to finish out the season. We made our money back for the league, one of only 3 teams to do it and we had one of the high averaging teams in the league at that.

Bowled this morning, just to work on my early rotation. Ha, it's hard to work on someting to fix it, when it doesn't happen. This seems to be an intermitant problem that only springs up once in a while.

So, I would roll 4-5 balls well, then, I would early rotate. And, for no rhyme nor reason. It just crops up. It often stays for a few balls, then goes away. And, I'm back on trck again.

Really confusing, to me and my coach. In fact, my coach asks, "how can I correct something when you don't do it?" But, as he watches for the better part of a game, BINGO, I do it.

So, I bowled 5 games waiting for it to happen, which it did about 5 times. Coach says he can see it happen, and see the symptoms, but doesn't see what caused it.

He had me move the ball farther outside, turn my hand farther to the left, keep my hand on the inside of the ball, changed my pushoff. I would do it for 5-6 balls, and Bingo, there it is again. Mind boggling.
