I was told that back in the 40's in a small town in upstate NY there was a bowling hustler, Arnold Travis, who was not real good and most of his strikes were ugly. Do to this, when ever he dropped all ten in ugly fashion, those in attendance would yell, "Travesty" basing this upon his last name.

I think it would be a good idea to start using this expression as a consistent way of letting all know, especially the one who rolled the strike, that it was ugly and just a travesty.

My team and I use it in league and have had favorable response. Most think it time to "call people out" for ugly strikes.

****, if you can yell "Brooklyn" on a crossover strike, yelling "Travesty" tells even more of the story. So, who's with me?
