I had a feeling this was going to be a interesting release. I am a big fan of the Riot and the Dark Star mainly due to the Ultimate Vision cover. With the new Neutron core I didn't know what to expect from this ball other than the numbers indicated it would be stronger than the Dark Star.

The Rising Star turned out to be a really nice surprise. The best way I could describe this would be a similar controlled motion to the Dark Star but stronger than the Riot. This is one of the best ball motions I have seen in a long time for my type of game. I tested this ball on the Kegel Middle Road pattern, it gave me many different ways to play the lane. Playing around 14 to 7 was by far my best look, it clears the fronts nicely and really picks up the midlanes. One of the qualities I liked best was that I didn't have to move as fast as I do with some of my other equipment.

I then tried this ball in league the same night, our league shot is the Kegel Stone Street pattern. I started playing around 13 at the arrows with a breakpoint of 5 and I pretty much stayed there the whole night. I made a 3 and 1 move in the last game and that was it, shooting games of 259, 265, 256. Once again the smooth motion and the ability to stay in the same location was absolutely amazing!

This is a great all around ball. It is definitely a different ball motion than anything else in the Roto line. Rev dominate and matched players will find this to be a GREAT benchmark ball. Speed dominate players also would find a great use for this especially if the surface is changed. Great job to the guys in Utah! Video coming soon.

Thanks Jimmy, been waiting for a hybrid in the shield line, the color choice was a good one as well. Been looking at the dagger, but just wasn't sold on it for some reason, this looks like the ball I've been waiting for.

Can't wait for the video.

Did(do) you have a chance to compare this ball to Brunswick Slingshot? They both look to be designed to play same line conditions, but there is significant difference in prices, so it would be nice to see some comparision in reaction, pincarry and so on

Tovarnak, my bet is the Rising Star is much more diverse and stronger than the Slingshot. Hybrid cover etc. Im thinking something along the lines of Nomad Dagger with Darkstar type core.
