Here are 2 vids from this week's practice.

Note:
I am posting the shot, though I stand up on purpose to see where the ball goes (camera behind me).

Areas of improvement please ?

I can't believe you don't average 220.
Is your 200 average on a typical house shot?
Positive points: You hold your finish nice.
You have a nice free arm swing.
Your foot work is smooth and fluid.
To anaylize you it would take alot more than two shots from the back. Side views show the timing of the swing in relationship to the footwork better. I can't really see anything to pick out from just those two shots.
Look good, maybe someone else can see something from those two, but not me.

I'll second that. You look so much better than most, and you've never had a live coach!

When it comes to tenpin, Vini vidi vici!

I see you still haven't bought a tripod for your camera, or learned how to make friends with someone so they can hold the camera for you laugh

You look pretty good, at least from the floor and too far to the right. Your cadence looks a pinch slow, if you count when each foot hits the floor your cadence is pretty even and slow 1 and 2 and 3 and slide, see if you can get it to 1 and 2, 3 slide with no and in the middle between the second and 3rd step.

A shot from the side would help me see more. Keep up the good work, I would say the biggest thing keeping your average down is your location, if you bowled on some of the cake easy shots here in the US you would be averaging 220 for sure.

"hahahahahaha" - spot on as always

I had a feeling about being slow. I will try to "feel" it the way you describe it. Thnx Coach !

Agree about being just a bit slow. Just to clear up, Vini does take five steps,

so instead of 1..2..3..4..slide

try 1..2..3.4..slide. The 4th step is a quickie step.

When I decided that the free swing was for me, and abandoned the plant-n-pull, this is one of the big keys that I found to keeping the swing free and loose. Every now and then, I will forget about the quickie step, and this causes me to control the ball on the downswing just enough to lose the good release, and I usually end up pulling it. In my mind, I see the quickie step as a way of getting myself out of the way of the ball as it's falling down in the swing. In other words, let the swing do it's thing, and adjust the steps to let that happen. Before, my steps were what they were, and I would adjust my armswing to them.. if that makes any sense?

Having said that, it doesn't appear that you are controlling the ball on the way down... seems very fluid. So, I don't know, you could experiment with the quickie step... you may find that you are indeed controlling the swing just a bit on the way down.... if that is the case, by trying the quickie step, you may get yourself a couple more free mph's of ball speed. thumbsup
