As a total new guy to bowling I just wanted to add that Michelle Mullen's book "Bowling Fundamentals" is the best I've seen for a total beginner. Very well written.

I would like to add "See it, Feel it, Do it" by Mo Pinel. This book is the basis for many of the skills that are currently being taught at the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, Florida.

I also recommend any of the books written by the late Bill Taylor. His books focus on drilling and fitting bowling balls.

Has anyone read The Ultimate Bowling Guide by Eric Miller? And what did you think?

Thanks for the list. I just ordered From Gutterballs to Strikes and Bowling Execution to read. The reviews make them both sound like a good place to start for someone like me. I'm just a beginner in learning a hook and in competitive bowling, however after reading forums for several weeks I'm comfortable with digesting information aimed at people with more skill and experience than myself.

Plus they're each about $5.00 shipped off of And I'm kinda cheap like that. whistle

I ordered Bowling Execution and Focused for Bowling. I read this thread and those two books look like they are right up my street.

I got them through the mail today and going to read and read smile

Because of my location i have a hard time finding a trainer. So i hope these books can help me allong the way.

And if i can improve than i can look for a trainer to take me to an even bigger and better game. (wishfull thinking:)

So just a big thank you for this Topic thumbsup

I've read a ton of them. Jowdy Bowling Execution is good. But Ive found things in [censored] Ritger books, Jowdy, several. I think Joe Slowinski's is the most useful today though. Just my opinion. I got the Norm Duke DVD and though I think it's good, I dont feel it's the greatest ever. Maybe a bit too corny for me in parts.

Just finished "Game Change" by Mark Baker. This is the best bowling book I've ever read. Easy to understand and a simple system to improve your game no matter what style you bowl.
Current Avg.

Sport shot 178

Game Changer was recommended to me by a coach. I ordered it on-line and was pleased that I did! I previously read John Jowdy's last book and found Mark Baker's book even better.
