yeah I definitely do, lanes super crowded last night I'll have to get the side shot another time.

So should I start with my knees more bent? and that will help me keep my slid knee bent and stay more down ?

Thanks

Chad

No you don't want to walk like a duck to the foul line. Walk tall, then sit into the slide. You should also use your balance arm more in the swing. Read this:

It looks like you'll need some work and I'm sure these guys on here will help you along. One thing that I see that will benefit you the most the earliest is to slow your swing down. When I started I had a problem with muscling the swing and had little hook (speed dominant over rev dominant). It's been almost 4 years now and I'm still fighting that ingrained speed issue. Slow your swing down and your ball will hook a bit more and the rest of these guys will help you with everything else.

The ideal swing should feel as though you aren't putting anything on it; until you get to the release point. Just let gravity take the ball down and back and then down and through again. During the transition period between the back swing / forward swing the ball will float for what feels like a second (This is very good!). If you need more ballspeed your footwork, body positioning, leverage, etc. will allow you to put more power into the ball without putting any "arm" into it. The others here will help you with all of that.

I don't want to see you get into the same bad mistakes that I got into... and am still fighting to get out of.

It is important to keep your arm relaxed and let the weight of the ball/gravity control the backswing. That being said there has to be some controled/applied pressure points that will result in a consistant release and follow through. 1. Keep the palm of your hand underneath the ball. 2. Finger tips firm but not squeezing. 3. A downward pressure with the back/inside of thumb. This will keep you from squeezing and getting nasty blisters on the thumb nuckle.

Let the thumb clear then rotate the fingers from six or seven o'clock to 5 o'clock. A little lift with the fingers will really REV it up.

The follow through will come natural with a good stroke and release.

another thing you could work on is incoorporating your left arm some more for increased balance and leverage. If you think about a pitcher in baseball, if you really watch them, as their arm comes forward you see their glove hand go from pointing straight at their target, to snapping in to their chest. This gives them increased balance and velocity without having to try hard. Just a quick suggestion, its definitely helped me!
