Was hoping sk8shorty01 would post this to the forums, as it happened close to him, but I'll exercise my self-appointed "clipping service" duties here...

http://bit.ly/dVB4Nb (from Bowl.com; link broke in original post)

Arthur Ulmer, at 89 years and 6 months, is now the oldest bowler to throw a sanctioned 300 game, pending formal USBC approval. Just goes to show you you can compete at any age. In my FB share of this article, I noted I was half the guy's age, so there's hope for me yet! hehehehe! laugh

I also just saw an article on the USBC site about a 12 year old having just bowled a 300.

After reading the article, he looks to be in pretty good shape too. Sure doesn't look to be 89.

Richie is correct, this is very close to me. Melbourne is about 25 minutes from my house.

It just so happens that the center he shot it at is owned by the same people that own my "home" center.

I can see it happening. We have a guy on our team Monday nights who's 80 and he still kicks butt. He has close to a 180 average and frequently shoots over 200. I heard he shot a 260 something a few weeks ago.

If I'm lucky enough to turn 80 I'll be happy to be able to still roll a ball down the lane.
