I am looking for opinions on the VG. I still struggle getting any sort of hook in the heavy fresh oil and prefer playing on lanes broken down a bit. I use little hand, righty, low speed stroker.

I edited the thread title due to negative reviews of the invasion.

I'm on my second one. I put about 500 games on my first one and retired it once the labels started wearing off from repeated sanding. It's a good ball and does handle oil well, but once it reaches a certain amount of games requires regular maintenance (HW bath/sanding). In the long run it way out-performs the Invasion and rejuvenates well after maintenance unlike the Invasion.

I had both VGs drilled pin below RF to tame the backend because OOB it can be a bit jumpy until it soaks up some oil. On a THS it's the kind of ball that recovers nicely from a miss to the outside.

I would recommend a Mission, but u already have one lol. I'm suprised its not strong enough for you in heavy oil. My Mission outhooks my VG throughout the entire lane and it was drilled pin up compared to my pin down VG. But, those things happen in bowling where one ball is different for some.

Keep an eye out for the Roto Grip Theory, lot of buzz already for that one. Heard the Bank is another strictly for heavy oil ball as well.

My C-system 2.5 is stronger than my mission. My Mission just slides through fresh oil. It's partly because I use very little hand in my release. At this point in my learning curve I am trying to keep my swing as simple as possible.

I had my Pro Shop drill me up a Virtual Gravity today and shot a little with it. I shot a 165 for my first game which is a pretty good game for me. The ball really moves once it hits the dry boards. It has very nice carry. I have been impressed thus far.

Also, had the Pro Shop play with my Missions coverstock a bit...I believe he took it down to 350 after sanding out some scratches. The ball is the strongest hooking ball in my bag now. With a natural follow through and little hand it rolls the lines I like to play with ease. I have been impressed.
