From what I could see, your push off is late. The ball should be down at your right leg when it is firmly on the floor. This results in your feet getting to the line before the ball, and you pull the ball through, causing the off balance on the slide.

Now Ron would say that late timing is better than early, but, that's as long as you don't pull your arm through.

Another reason why late timing is better. As you are sliding your target is getting closer to you both in distance and height as you are bending and coming down into your sitting position.

By timing late your slide has stopped, allowing your eyes to focus on a target that is stationary as the ball is being released. This makes it easier for the brain and eyes to pick up the target and to send the ball to that target.

This is not taking into account the benefits that late timing gives you as far as power at release, transfer of momentum and rev rate increases. Just a simple little tidbit that many don't really think about in most cases.

I just read the article on late timing. It makes a lot of sense.

How come nobody thought of this before ?
I mean (Ron's - late timing)

I guess we all think inside the BOX !

This is what Coach Jim said in the other thread:

Late timing and slowing your feet down to a crawl takes practice and is not worth the time unless you bowl on very heavily oiled lanes. If your feet don't slow down, you will be forced to yank the ball down from the top of the back swing and have the worst results possible. Having done both methods, my advice to you is to keep your timing normal and not think about your feet at all and just let the ball swing and take a natural walk to the foul line and all will be well.

DM said what I would have said. Just a smidgen late on the timing of the backswing, which leads, as DM said, to muscling the forward swing on the slide.

I'm thinking you might be actually holding the ball up, not allowing it to drop with gravity. You can practice your swing without walking, until the gravity-fed swing feels natural.

While I greatly respect sk8's ability, I don't understand what he said, and haven't read the Clifton article. Not sure it's for galoots like you and me....

Other than that, you're very smooth. The coaches probably aren't responding because you didn't film the video from the back and side as described in the "help us help you" thread. You can find it by typing "help us help you" in the box up at the top of the page and clicking on "search".

You have a nice hook. I'm jealous. 2Fast is 2cool!

10PinGaloot thank you for the info. I will make a new video next week as i did find that thread. Looks like i just need to take the side shots from a little farther back so the entire approach cld be seen. And thanks for the nice words. I have been working for the past year to get my ball to move more and it is finally getting there. That 2Fast is def a nice ball.

Besides what everyone else has said (I'm no authority on that stuff...) what I noticed is it looks like you finish off balance. Once you release you immediately step back up with your trailing leg to get your balance.
