MikeHL, congrats on the first taste of being in the 600 club! Awesome bowling!

Dennis, Nice shooting and cool to find that ball just sitting in a box undrilled. Amazing how well one can bowl when the ball matches up with the lanes and the bowler doesn't over-think the game. Great week for you!

At league last night, not great, just so, so. 236-200-168, 604. The last game I really only had three bad shots; a missed 10-pin, a 4-6 split and a washout in the tenth that I missed (after a double too!). Other than that, I wasn't all that bad. Left too many ringing 10s, and soft 7s the last two games, though. I just couldn't find the right angle into the pocket after the first game. When I was striking it just seemed to be one of those "every other frame" nights.

Tonight was a good night for me. Putting the 3.5 in the Rejuvenator was one of the best bowling judgement calls I've ever made. I shot a 232 156 201 tonight in my Friday Night Live League for a 589 series. That is currently my highest set and high game this season. As a result, my average has gone up 6 pins to a 170 average. My 1st game throwing the ball over and over made me more confident and comfortable. I don't believe I had any 10 pins then. My 2nd game I lost my line and was experimenting with another ball choice that hurt me more than helped. I had a clean game for the third game, and about 3-4 ten pins, but they were all converted. I guess practicing and making an observation that Thursday night paid off. When I picked my 3.5 up today, my pro-shop guy told me that even after 2 hrs the 3.5 was still bleeding oil and I was surprised! I bought some Energizer Ball Cleaner so that it'll save me from making a trip to the Rejuvenator every two weeks. I can now bowl confidently and competitively the rest of the season because I have my thumbs just right and I know what to expect performance wise.

Tough night last night. When will I ever learn to move sooner when a line is not working? It makes me so mad. So first 2 games 6 splits and a 149 and 152 then I move outside and shoot 204. I made a note and put it in my bag! Team went 1-3 so we are at .500 early on.

Bowled twice today. Afternoon with the Seniors and in the Mixed League at night. Pretty consistent in each, 625 and 626. Maintained average in both.

Used the new/old Terminator. It really wasn't wet enough for it either time. but, I had to use it.

Well in order to keep my honor score per league night streak up that meant friday night I would have to do something.

9/ X X X X 9- X X X X X X X 257
X X X X X 9/ 9/ X X X X X X 267
8/ X X X X X X X X X 9- 278

So I ended up shooting 802 for series which gives me the last ring (other than 900) that I can get this award season. I am really having fun on the lanes and when you figure that my average pins down per first ball has been over 9.5 since the end of the fall leagues last year, I am not going to complain.

Eventually my honor score streak will end, and I am sure eventually I will hit that rough patch but until it does end I am enjoying it completely!

Great shootin' shorty! Wish I could say the same for myself. Pre-bowled today for next week's men's league. In a word.....awful. 185-211-168, 564. Second week in a row I ended league with a 168. Missed 4 or 5 easy spares too. Yuck. Just did not feel good at all out on the lanes today.

Glad I'm not bowling for a week and a half. Maybe the time off will do me good. I don't think I've had a series over 650 in over a month.

Well finished up my fourth night of league. Here is the full break down on BowlSk. Now it's not really comparable to Sk8's 802 but I like it, well other than the last game where I just made some bad shots.

First game was a clean 253 with 8 strikes and 7 in a row leading up to the twelfth frame which was just a horrible shot or I would have punched out the back 8.

Second game was a 203. It had 7 strikes but they were scattered and I had two 2 pin splits that I got one pin on. I almost punched out in the ninth and tenth for a 204 but left a flat 10 on the last shot.

Last game was a miserable 178 with only 3 strikes. I wasn't throwing the ball that well but tried a ball change from the Hy-Road to the Triton so I wasn't having to cover as many boards. Even when I threw what I thought was a good shot, it just didn't carry so went back to the Hy-Road in the last two frames and did better. One of these days I'll hold it together for all three games. This game also saw my first single pin miss of the young season, a 10 pin, which I couldn't remember where I line up on the spare attempt and stood too far to the left.

Again it was a bad game to bring down a really good set. I rolled a 634 total, just edging out my set up man for high set by 1 pin even though he beat me two of three games. I only had one missed makable spare and the other 4 opens were splits.

As a team we took all four, from my set up man's parents' team. He was clutch in winning the third game in the tenth.

Nice shooting again Cal! You are starting off strong, hopefully you can continue the strong outings for another 30 weeks or so haha.

Keep it up!
