First try at synthetic lanes today with the new 2Furious... the lanes take a little getting used to but...

191-211-149-181-247, 979/195avg; that's 20 pins over my average! The lanes were pretty dry, both me and the guy next to me had to speed the ball up a bit to keep it from hooking so hard it missed the headpin. My 3rd game I went back to the Cool Noize just to see how it behaved on synthetic and it was pathetic; the oil may have had something to do with it, too. The Noize held it's own as a spare ball, though.

I have contemplated taking the Noize down to 2000, like the 2Furious, but I think I'll leave it alone for now and have it resurfaced at 4000.

All in all a very good day at the lanes! Learning more and more how to control the new ball and getting comfortable with moving around the approach to address conditions and spares.

You too, TAR!

What'd I bowl? I didn't.

Paid for 8 games, threw one game consisting of hitting the 4-7 20 times, and got my money back. I'll never go back to that alley. Ever. They need to learn that even if you lose money in the summer, it's better than losing your customers.

I'll be heading down the road to Astro Bowl from now on. Their lanes are always oiled.

203,193,195, the last two show the importance of spares. I was one open frame, in those games, away from being over 200 in all 3 games.

First night back for the Thursday Winter League and got off to a rocky start with a 136 in the first game, only saving grace was that every one was struggling so I managed to not get my self to down beat.

Second game did not get of great but after 5 bagger 9 / in the last finished with a 202.

Final game was good but got split in 10th which hurt for a 212 game.

Had to go practice after last night's stinker in men's league. 246-189-232, 667. Would probably have been better, but I switched to my Hype for the middle game only, just to work with both balls. Didn't have a real good line for it though.

Last night I tried (stupidly) using protection tape only on the back of my thumb, instead of my usual full wrap. Big mistake. I could not get a good release all night. I can sweat a lot during bowling, and without the full wrap on my thumb it really screws up my release.

Went back to the full wrap today with much better feel and release. So much for that experiment.

Oh mighty AAA #3 Teammate... good practice.
Sounds like the practice went well. Beyond the scores, you refamiliarized yourself with your full wrap.. VERY COOl...

Went to practice today with my wife, Linda and myself. Score was only ok... but really went to town on ridding myself of the tightness and hitch in my early season swing. Overall good... but still some work needed.

Oye oye. Cheers to Team THREE... AND the board.
