Sounds like my goals this season coming up as I had a 190 average over the summer in 1 short league and a 180 in a mixed summer league. A 300 is my highest most sought after goal and I hit my high game of 253 (non-sanctioned) this summer. Should be a fun Fall. New ball - Lane 1 Blue Death Massacre coming in 2 days should be helpful to accomplish that.

jwil and 300goal, both of you are just 1 mark away from your 200 average goal. Focus on the spares first, and the strikes will come.

Thanks Dennis -that's a taller order than it sounds like but I know it'll come with much practice. New ball is giving my thumb fits btu had it tweaked today so should be good to go for League starting tomorrow.

Well first night of fall league went as well as expected - 1 pin shy of a 600 series for a 599. Keeps me humble. 195-192-212. Dennis and others-you are so right-1 mark short of a 200 average and picking up just one more would have done it. Everybody keeps saying practice, practice, practice and it seems to be paying off. Thanks to all who shared.

I'll be continuing into the Fall/Winter 3-man Wednesday league with my brother. We just finished up the Summer league and finished mid-pack (14th of 24) with a 174 average, HG of 226 (which I just bowled last week) and HS of 627.... I guess that will be my baseline. My mid-term goals would be a 190 average, a 250 game and 650 series and then improve upon that by the end of the season.

Still trying to work with my lane management, understanding the breakpoint and entry angles (a little hard for me because I was always a straight-line bowler...) The 3rd guy on our team gave me his dad's old uDot and I have been working it with a fair amount of success. I also have a 15# 2Furious on the way, just to see what I can do with that. My arm ain't what it used to be and the 16#'ers just beat it to death.

Damn excited. First of my two leagues begins tonight. (The Sunday afternoon league starts next week. Looking for a better start this year. We are the defending champions in THIS league, and it would be a first for me to be on a team that repeated as league champions for two consecutive years. So there's a goal.

Personal goals for this year?
220 average in a league for the first time!
Another team championship between the two leagues.
800 series.
Another 300 game this year.

OY OY OY
Cheers to the esteemed members of this board!

Vic. smile

Next Saturday my fall league starts and unless I go out sometime during this week it will be almost 4 months since the last time I rolled a bowling ball at the end of last season.

Personal goals would just be to execute the best I can and not let one or two bad shots get into my head and stay as clean as possible. I don't have any numbers I want to hit but sure averaging better than the 181 I ended with and throwing a few honor scores would be nice.

My goal for this winter is to average between 220-230. I just finished my summer league at 230 so I think I can do it. Shooting another honor score would also be an excellent bonus. =]

Just learnt I can continue the summer Kegel league into the fall/winter so I believe I'll add this one to my week. Not cheap, but it's worth it.

Goals? Stop trying so hard and also stop taking everything I've been taught/reading so literally.

First night of Fall league. And, am I pi$$ed.

We had our meeting last week, and actualy had an argument with the house manager who announced an increase of a quater for lineage. He assumed the league would just increase its fee. Well, it didn't. And we calculated there was an impact of about $5000 over the year of bowling. So, we battled. And, got the manager to concede that the lnes would be in good working condition for the extra fee. He couldn't guarantee that, so a few bowlers threatened to go to another house. The Tues Men's leage was already down to 6 teams, and the House forced themto merge with our 20 teams. We really didn't like that, but went along. but, we didn't go along with the increase.

bottom line, the manager said he would have to cut corners elsewhere.

Well, we found out where he cut. Our regular house pattern of 39 feet was cut short to 34 feet. Now, just how much can be saved with 5 feet short on the oil pattern? This is just rediculous.

Bowlers were complaining all night. The manager's response was, for an additional quarter, he could go back to 39 feet.

Plain Horse $hit. He saw the Tues nite league reduce by half. Well, I guess the Mon will do the same next year.

It's tactis like this that force bowlers away. I guess all this chain wants is te $4.99 per game for cosmic. They couldn't wait til we left before they turned off the lights. Many of us hadn't changed our shoes.

It's not going to be fun.
