Went 247-279-265 for a 791. The sad part is that the last game I knew I needed 27X (274 exactly) and I joked at the counter that if I leave a single pin I was going to miss it just in spite of not being able to get the award because of the pre-bowl. Well, I proceed to throw the front 9 and pretty much just needed to throw a half decent shot in the 10th. So I decided (on accident) to go up there and pull the ball left, through the nose to leave the big 4 and picked up the 6-7-10 out of it.

That series brings my average back to 238.42 so I am still hovering at close to 240.

After my almost 800 last week I followed it up with another one, going 279-247-265 (same scores haha) for another 791. This week my center got new pins, we went from the TWISTER pins to the AMFLITES and so far I obviously like them.

First game I went ring 10, 9 in a row, ring 10 for 279.

Second game was a ring 10, stone 8 and a high pocket 4 for 247.

Last game I went front 5, 10 pin (wiff) 5 bagger, 4-9 for 265.

So this series now brings me back over the 240 barrier at 240.72 .

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to series page on BowlSK)

I felt I bowled better than my score tonight, and they might have matched if I had made more of my spares. I'm finding the Fast very effective for playing the deeper inside on this shot...just decrease the axis rotation, throw it fast, and give it some room. laugh

It was a team effort for the sweep tonight, with my contribution coming not so much from having good games, but making clutch shots near the end of games. Eileen continues to contribute in a big way, having a 177 second game, which I believe was her second best ever. John and Rob were also both over their averages for two of the three games.

OK, we bowl 4 games in our Trio league. And, it's a sin to have an opponent roll 997, and his teammate roll 960. With those scores, who cares what the third guy rolled?

Our only win was the first game when we shot 720 scratch. Then we got blasted the next 3 games. The tables turned when we lost the second game by 158 pins, and we were bowling scratch. No cap difference. Their lowest man was 242. Then it happened again in the third game. We came closer in game 4, but still lost.

We have a good competitive team, but we just can't win.

I shot 191-197-224-198 = 810 a little under my 205 average. Only 4 opens tonight. I just couldn't string any strikes. But, picked up all 6, 10-pins.

Shot 179-205-230 for a 602 this week, far below my somewhat unrealistic 240.72 average.

Brings me down to 237.7 after 13 weeks.

On a positive note, after going to the chiropractor on friday, today my back is finally starting to feel better. Thats a good thing because tomorrow marks three straight weeks of back pain if it isn't healed up by then.

I don't care whether it's on a house shot or not...240+ average is absolutely ridiculous. You must eat the ths tournaments for breakfast with that kind of consistency...ths or not.

Thank you Dre, and believe me I am more than happy with my average this year. The highest averages to ever finish up a full league season are 241-239-239 so I am right there on the cusp of being one of the top bowlers in my association. This is of course over a winter league while I am only doing it for the summer, but still my summer league is 48 games, more than enough to establish a real average.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Linked to series page on BowlSK)

This was not only my best set of the summer tonight, but my most consistent one, as well, especially in the 210 second game, which was my only clean game of the summer. The Fast was not ready to use after surface repair, so the attack plan with the Hy-Road was to throw it fast and with as little axis rotation as possible, and the plan largely succeeded. I also got my spare game figured out: I need to go at the second arrow on all of my spares with my spare ball, and when I hit that mark on my second ball, I didn't usually miss. laugh

Rob backed up my 210 with a 250, so we won the second game's points; unfortunately, those were our only points of the night.

Although this was a summer I'd largely like to forget, I did feel I got things figured out toward the end, so I'm looking forward to the start of the fall/winter season with a renewed sense of confidence.

Oops. Posted under wrong topic. Copied on here.

Last night of Summer Trios. And, we still can't win. Lost all 4 games tonight. It just doesn't make sense. We are better than what we did. We ended 10th of 18.

My games were 202-278-228-200 = 908. Finished with a 207 average.

Lost 2 games to my opponent and won 2 games. In fact, when I rolled 278, he rolled 277.

On to the Fall leagues with a couple of weeks off. That's in this house. The other house starts next week.

Oh, one thing to add. Got my 8th Varipapa 300 of the summer. That's 12 or more strikes in a row, but over 2 games.

Just a matter of time before they all come in 1 game.
