Well, either you changed clothes with each shot, or you pieced together a number of different videos into one. You really need to post one video, showing you from head to toe, with the videocam directly behind you.

The reason you want a head to toe, videocam directly behind you, is to check your footwork, swing path, finishing position and look at your release.

It was hard to tell with the video shaking so much, but it appears your back swing pulls behind your back. Because of this, you start turning you hand early during the downswing, causing your hand to be on the side and top of the ball at the release point. This is causing you to lose revolutions. Also because you pull the ball behind your back, this can result in pulled shots. BUT, it's hard to tell since the videocam is not directly behind you on every shot.

Your hand and swing look much better, keep working on this.

What is starting to happen is you are wrapping the ball behind you in the back swing, this causes you to turn the ball too soon in the down swing and for the ball to bounce out away from your body.

Solution: stop trying to hook the ball and just keep your hand behind the ball all the way through to the release. When you get this down try pointing your index finger at the floor as the ball heads into the release, like you are wrapping your hand around the ball, then unwrap your hand as the ball gets next to your ankle.

One thing that helps you stop trying to hook the ball is to take your focus off your bowling arm and put it on your balance arm. Keep your balance arm in front of you until the ball gets to your right hip as it heads into the release position, then pull your left arm back without forcing your right arm through. If you focus on this and just keep your hand behind the ball you will see good results. Post another video when you are ready, and feel free to ask as many questions as you need.

CoachJim is correct in his analysis. This is pretty much my problem as well, although TNT is not as severe. I am losing ball reaction because I am turning my hand too early trying to hook the ball.

Let the ball do the work. I am going to try CoachJims remedy and focus on my balance arm and see if that helps.
Thanks Coach for the tip.

I think I'll go with Coach Jim in the hand and swing portion but I'll give another perspective try to point the toes or touch the lane during the release see what ball reaction you have.

Check it out 13strikes: Without a ball in your hand, set up like you are about to bowl...now take your wrist and bend it up as far as it will go...ok, now do a push away. Do you feel that tightness in your shoulder? That is restricting your armswing. Now hold your hand flat like you are carrying a plate...extend your shoulder...feel how loose it is? That is what you want in your bowling swing.
So...support the ball with your left hand, keep your right hand straight and use the left hand to push the ball out into the swing. It will feel weird the first game or two, but once you get used to it you will have a looser swing, more speed, more accuracy and eventually more revs.
Good luck, have fun and keep bowling!
