As usual, I bowl with a few fellows on Sunday morning 9 am for practice. When I got there, I noticed the main doors were locked, and people were entering through the Lounge door. So, I followed.
Inside, I found about 25 bowlers who were ready for the 9:30 Practice League, and another 10 who I normally practice with. They were all just standing around because NO One from the Bowling Center showed for work.
It seems the lane mechanic came in early to oil as is the routine, and unlocked the side door. Apparently, the first bowler to show up walked around the building and found this open door. He came in, and the only door he could unlock was the Lounge door. So, he propped it open with a chair.
Eventually, someone came in who knew the
Cell phone of one of the other workers, and he called. Soon, the Center Manager was on the phone, and instructed a bowler how to sign on to the
computer system, and turn on the lanes.
He turned them all on, for Free Bowling, and Set up the league lanes, through phone instructions. At 10, another regular worker showed up, and fixed everything.
Seems, the Opening Desk Person didn't show up for work. Should have been there at 8:30.
So, we all got to bowl as many games as we wanted for Free. I left at noon, and the opening person still hadn't shown.
